Is This Pay To Win?
Hi,
I just saw this on my list of Steam's suggested games, & it looks right up my street (mechs, strategic team PvP/clan battles, etc.)! A quick look on this forum however revealed a couple of posts suggesting it's 'Pay 2 Win', which is the absolute kiss of death to any game.

So what's the truth of the matter, is it really Pay 2 Win or are the people saying it is simply people exaggerating to let off some steam? Thanks for your time.

You can earn everything in game, but by time you get it, it has been nurfed and better is out.
They do offer to buy new stuff with real money or buy coins and such with real money and win.
You can buy the resorces with real money and speed up your leveling.

So if you pay real money you can make a champion hanger.
You still need to know what to pick and how to set everything up as well.

You can still play as a FTP player and use skill and knowledge to beat the champs who don't have the knowledge to have a good setup.

Yes. This is a perfect example of pay to win. This is what pay to win looks like.

It sounds like the epitome of Pay to Win, thanks for the warnings.

If your goal is to win and become a champion, you are going to have to get the money out of your wallet.
A free player will generally be between 34 and 40% winnings.
Pixonic plays on frustration to make players pay.
WR is a fun game with quick games, but don't think you're going to win.
You can log all players in, complete the daily quests, and grab the Supply Crate, just to have an hour of fun, but if you want more, you're going to have to pay.

Thanks for your post. For me it's more about having a level playing field than necessarily winning games. Don't get me wrong, I generally play to win, but not at the expense of fun.

In this instance there's a bias for or against players depending on how much money they've spent on the game. I honestly cannot understand the appeal of that kind of game mechanic, but evidently others do & fair play to them.

I'm lucky to be in the Champions League, but it's just that I've been playing for over 4 years.
But there are always players who pay to have the latest bots and weapons at max levels and even when I fight bots identical to mine, he will always kill me faster than me.

Yes and no. The PC community is hardcore and tend to dominate most matches regardless of what bots they use. At the moment if you play through steam it is intense because their are no mobile players. Once the update drops it will become a lot easier. When its easier, more level, you can rack up resources to get more weapons. up grades ect.

Most just abuse the system. or maybe both.

Forgot about tanking rats, the one's who lose to drop rank and wripe out the lower levels.

The situation will never get better, it will get worse and worse, Pixonic manufactures with each update more and more powerful robots, weapons, modules, chips and pilots, which will make the progression of new players more difficult.
Pixonic could reboot and modernize older robots, but what it does is ridiculous.
One day Pixonic will no longer have new players and the old ones will get bored and leave.

So basically "If the whale eats glue for ALL three of his daily meals, you have a slim chance of winning against him"

I also had it in my suggestions and I adore MechWarrior, but this just sounds like Robocraft all over again - pay money, have vastly superior stats. Yeah, sure, you catch somebody off-guard, you can deal with them, but if the engagement is roughly on the same terms you just get pulverized.

No, you try using your brain and out play him, it's what manni does if you watch his video's.

It makes more sense to pay a hacker for a cheat. It's just cheaper.

Good for manni, whoever that is.

Although in your original post you did point out that anyone who pays for their gear has an advantage over someone who doesn't. Even concluding in that post that one can only beat an opponent who's paid for their gear if that opponent doesn't know what they're doing.

And as I said that is the absolute epitome of Pay to Win; It's not a matter of skill, merely a matter of handing over your credit card number...
