I really appreciate this idea. Would also be great if you are allowed to join an ongoing multiplayer session. Right now you can only be a spectator. The whole idea of Raid is to race multiple classes side by side. It would be fun when you try and catch up with others who are further ahead in the stage or if they are stuck and are just waiting for a while and you show up and help them out. This would build a bond. Right now I log in and don't see anyone online. If I do see someone, I can't race with them instantly because the game is locked down. I will eventually buy another copy for my friend just so that I can race with someone but until then I am just waiting. I will look into discord and try to get the timing right with some group who would be racing around the same time.

The idea behind my proposal is that everyone can participate without having to be logged in at an exact hour and date. Not everyone have the liberty to do that, tbh. Multiplayer is still limited (8 players and mass stars only) so it's not a viable option for all players, and also, a single player mode is needed to count the Dakar Points, which is one of the rankings I want to create for all participants.

I would like to see this as an online (in-game) leaderboard, with detail.

Unfortunately I always start again before unlocking Legend mode, for example I completed stage 12 on Rookie then restarted at a less than flat-out pace. Then I restarted since until finally I ride a bike with no HUD and with manual gears of course. Won't be at Legend for at least as many days as there are ton+ km stages!

There were a few other details which I had suggestions for but I will not mention it I guess.

Thanks I'm very intrigued by this, and always desire the greatest challenge a game/sim has available.

Not sure if the suggestion which I had in mind is still valid, as your OP might've edited out the point which triggered my concern. I remember reading something about passing checkpoints at a limited speed, which to me contradicted the point of the event! I like to read ahead in the notes and position the vehicle's approach accordingly...as fast as possible. Perhaps I misread or it was another post? This was yesterday.

@CiD, I often get a similar feeling that only a game's General forum is given priority. But this game I think our feedback is always considered to fit in with upcoming updates, that's what I've been noticing and it is refreshing. NMS was the same dedication. But TT was like talking to a wall.

Ah, yeah, that one....For a while I thought that I could add som extra challenge by making players be aware they had to slow down for an specific waypoint to take a screenshot.

At first I thought it was reasonable since moving your hand from the wheel/controller to press the screenshot button while going at full speed could be problematic for some, but after trying it myself and some others suggesting there really was no problem doing it, I suddendly thought it was a REALLY stupid idea, so I discarded it.

tl;dr I added that rule to make the game harder on purpose, but it's an unnecessary challenge that could ruin the championship for some

@CiD, it is a shame that TT was getting very close to being sorted but we really need selectable spring/damper/pressure to ride a chosen line. I actually ended up setting 100% steering sensitivity and using a third-party tool to set linearity...it really helped. But I do hope that a more dedicated team get the TT licence next time if that's the end of updates already.

@Bro, cool I shall force myself to unlock Legend...I still run the TT game often as you might've noticed, but I do love the Dakar experience without a HUD, the bikes feel better than they used to and I'm looking forward to riding them in some of the stages I tried in a car, very much.

F12 is ok to reach for. Perhaps even a short movie grab before/after in some tricky cases, then export a screenshot from say VLC. I often use OBS to record long movies so perhaps this will happen when I join in down the road :)

I do want this stuff automated but also I can see where CiD is coming from that there might be other priorities on the todo list.

One more concern I have is that I don't use a HUD. So screenshots of timing won't even show which gear I'm in...let alone anything else. Obviously nobody wants to screenshot every waypoint, so how would this work? I tested recording 1 hour of video that's no problem at all, but who would proof that with a stopwatch... It already looks like yet again it's going to be tricky to find interest from eligable entries.

It WON'T be every single waypoint that needs a screenshot. That would be insane and ridiculously problematic. My intention is to pre-select a determined waypoint, just ONE or perhaps two or three (depending of the stage), and remind people to take the screencap in order to make the entry valid. The objective with this is to compare times at determined sectors and make timekeeping more evenly for everyone.

I haven't heard the opinion of more people, but perhaps the waypoint screencap could be scrapped if it finds enough opposition. I need to hear many other players to see if it continues like this or not

Ok this is fine to toggle the HUD on/off for one or two screenshots, in my case.

Over time I think a leaderboard of times will be submitted. It would be nice to hear more people's thoughts in advance yes.
