"3rd-party DRM: SecuROM™"
Does anyone have a official link that shows that it has truly been removed? The link in Aidan's post leads to a wiki and the Bioshock entry doesn't have a reference, plus the "Bioshock" title links to Bionic Commando, so that makes me a bit uneasy about its accuracy.
(Note that this is more curiousity than anything. I probably have other games that still use SecuROM, I'm guessing.)

Activation limits removed on BioShock for the PC
"Good news! As promised, all activation restrictions, including install limits, have been removed from BioShock PC as of today. You don’t have to patch or install anything for this to go into effect for your copy of BioShock – it’s already done!
Enjoy your time in Rapture, and thank you for supporting BioShock and the 2K teams."
Well, but SecuROM has not been removed.
As 2K Elizabeth writes a few posts later:
Our other methods of copy protection remain. You will still have to activate your copy, and you will still need to keep the disc in the drive. SecuROM has not been removed -- just the activation limits on number of installs and number of computers you can install BioShock on simultaneously.
I think that is for retail version, I bought the game on steam and it doesn't have SecuROM.
It maybe so, but the store page tells us that it still has.
That's why 5Mercury asked for an official link.
1. Does Bioshock have DRM?
2. No, here's a link to the Big DRM list.
3. That list doesn't have references for Bioshock.
4. Here's an official link.
5. That says SecuROM isn't actually removed.
6. Look at the Big DRM list.
7. Ummm...
I just went into the Big DRM list as an anonymous user and added "(reference?) to the Bioshock entry. That tells me that anyone can edit this, so I can't really take it as gospel.
I actually own a copy of Bioshock purchased relatively recently (one of the sales). For a do-it-myself SecuROM check, I tried the SecuROM Removal Tool suggested in another thread and it said I had SecuROM on my machine, but didn't tell what games it was associated with, so it didn't work as verification.
I'll poke around in the registry, but does anyone know if there is a way to tell which games on a particular computer are being "protected" by SecuROM?
-.- <censored comment about Valve & 2K>
Maybe this SecuROM Diagnostic & Analysis Tool will share some light into the dark:

I've uninstalled all the programs on my machine that have SecuROM, used the remover tool, and am reinstalling Bioshock. I'll post the post-install SecuROM Diagnostic results here.
Though, that SecuROM site two (mentioned comments above) can be accessed from the official SecuROM site's sitemap, so just that seems pretty conclusive to me.

I am giving up on this "scientific" research and am personally satisfied with sir.eggy's SecuROM site link for Bioshock as proof that it has been removed.
Huzzah!
Now, how do we get the store information mistake corrected? It looks like the Big DRM list has a correct link to Bioshock's page now, so that's something...
