Worth playing even if the story is spoiled?
So awhile ago I made the mistake of looking up the story for this game- so now I know almost (if not all) the spoilers. Is this game still worth playing now? Or should I wait a few years when I forget some of the spoilers?

... ! ... Ah, to answer your question, spoiling the game's plot twist will certainly affect your enjoyment of the game's narrative. Bioshock one, (and to a lesser degree, Infinite) relies on its brilliant plot twist far too much. Several missions are the epitome of filler, a prime example being the three-to-four hour chunk in which you have to travel halfway across Rapture to resurrect... The trees. Many people who laud Bioshock for the masterfully written storyline are most likely remembering the "would you kindly" revelation, rather than the aimless wandering through claustrophobic corridors. However, the game has an absolutely fantastic vibe, and the Wikipedia plot description does not spoil some of the game's best moments and side characters. The game is certainly worth buying, you just won't enjoy it quite as much as some of the other people you have heard on here.

Couple of plot twists - and that's all.
I'd say Bioshock doesn't rely on a story too much.
Don't expect a level of Pathologic story or Spec Ops narrative from this game.

Anyway, you won't spoil anything. In Bioshock gameplay > story.

Unofrtunately after playing BI, bioshock 1's plasmid-or-weapon system doesnt feel good.. I guess I still still boot the game up again- thanks everyone!

I bought this game five odd years ago, never finished it. Now I'm reluctant because I already know what happens....

Bah.

Best Bioshock IMO. opne of the best atmospheres in gaming.

I say yes, because as stated, it has a great atmosphere that is worth playing. Plus there is all the non story specific stuff to find, like all the audio tapes. And reading about Sander Cohen doesnt do him the justice of actually dealing with him. Though I guess that goes for most of the characters.
