Why can't I use an EVE Hypo?

I just bought the game, and there's no button for using a Hypo, and I can't bind it to anything in the options. How do I bind a Hypo to a button?

You have to use a Eve Hypo by pressing r while holding a plasmid :P

I figured that out later when I was playing, I just remembered there being a specific button for using it, and the "Help" section described it as being unbinded.
