bioshock steam deck

i am getting to the main menu with the normal gamepad template, and i cant navigate or press any buttons. this is on the original bioshock, which is playable but not "steam deck verified". not sure if the same issue persists on BIOSHOCK remastered, but maybe you guys know a work around for steam deck im new to this. for either version of the game as well

just installed this and mine wouldn't register my ps4 controller inputs until i went into controls and toggled "use xbox controller" to on. i don't have a steam deck but if it emulates controllers like steam on p.c. then that might do the trick
