Bite rate significantly dropped after purchasing gold

I purchased some gold coins, to use for baits that can't be purchased otherwise. Before that I had a fairly normal bite rate, could catch a good amount of fish. However, after the transaction was done, my bite rate dropped to nearly nothing. On one map, I had 0 bites for a whole ingame day, Then i moved to a different map, took my usual gear and again had only a few fish for an entire day. This is also not the first time I notice this happening. It'd be great if the game wouldn't punish me for giving money to the developers.

Purchasing gold, causing Low bite rate, does not seem related.
Conspiracy Theories perhaps.

Mind if i ask what sort of baits you bought.

Those baits can earned in-game after maximizing bait tree, only one bait (caviar) can't. Gold only provides instant access to them.

Gold bait does not guarantee bite. Bite depends upon:

- there is actually very definite fish type in this area
- the school of fish wasn't fished out and the time frame of 1-1.5 hours hasn't passed
- you lured more fish of that type with groundbait (if possible and optional)
- it likes the lure and how you present it
- even more possible points, which you'll have to find out yourself

This game stresses fisher skill and understanding, much less the gear/lure that you use.

It doesn't seem to matter what kind of bait you use, what kind of line you use, what kind of lure you use, you won't catch any fish. No matter how much you change your spots and how much you change your technique, you won't catch any fish. I'm not sure if this should be a fishing game or almost a fishing game.
