Pike and fluorocarbon ?
I am left gobsmacked after the 3rd lure dreaded bite off again. fluorocarbon 6kg after about 5 mins the lure was bitten off by teeth. What am i doing wrong ?

I wasn't pulling hard or had reel too high.
My new method of fishing lately after loosing hooked fish after fish, even after striking i am pulling way hard sooo am trying to adjust the way i fish but am now loosing lures faster then making money. Has anybody else experience this ?
I am not even fishing for pike. This is becoming real annoying and happening way too often making it a nightmare.
This has never happened to me after two account with plenty of hours.
Do i really need to use braided and loose my bite rate to save my tackle ?
ill put trophy trout on hold for now.

Any help would be much appreciated.

You need to go higher 6kg is enough for like 3kg pike to bite it off. most ppl go with 27.7kg fluro on pike. so if you want to be a little bit safe you need to go 12kg atleast so the small dont bite it off. edit: but you are never rly save.

Thanks i will give that a try. So much money on line i have spent. :steamfacepalm:
I personally use 60kg bc 27.7 and 35 have gotten cut on multiple occasions for me

I also had that but if you double the max pike size you expect in kg you are pretty save but not 100 percent. (15kg trophy for example 30kg fluro). but i also had 27,7kg bite off but only once. If you go for pike only you can also use steel cause other fish then perch wont bite on it or very rare.

if on pike catching: trophy pike cuts through 35kg top fluoro (sayonara 250 silver of hooks and wobbler), normal pike doesn't. 55kg should be standard for replacing steel lead.

for normal fishing, formula is around 2.5x pike kg = top fluoro kg.
