Mouse Cursor bug

I have had the in game software mouse cursor become fixed over the game screen in 2 occurrences. The only thing I can attribute it to is sometime while alt tabbing, when coming back to the game, the cursor is overlaying the fishing screen. I've alt tabbed a lot and it's only happened twice but....

I do remember on Firday night, I was alt tabbing to open gpu fan curve and went to Discord to adjust mic levels as I was talking with another RF4 player while we were playing , and when coming back, the in game cursor was there. I didn't open a menu or use Q to open chat, I had poles in the water.

When this happened I can't move or do anything, no key presses work except F12 to take a picture, When I hit ESCAPE, you hear a click noise each time but there's no other screen to go back to so it does nothing. Only thing left to do is force close RF4 and restart.

Just for reference, I always have sticky keys disabled so it's not hitting SHIFT multiple times. No other games I've had this happen. I also closed Discord in the background and couldn't get the cursor to disappear.

Is alt tab the cause do you know or is it something else?

the link you sent is the link I put in my comment LOL.

I can't run RF4 as admin cause it's through steam so it's already run as admin and I did close programs in the background and it still happened.

it's ok..I'll just try not to alt tab

Try swapping between windowed mode/full screen?

As I mentioned, "When this happened I can't move or do anything, no key presses work except F12 to take a picture, When I hit ESCAPE, you hear a click noise each time but there's no other screen to go back to so it does nothing"

plus, windowed and full screen wouldn't do anything to the software mouse cursor, only the window size.

Stranger things have happened.

Other things to try:

1. Turn off Discord overlay.
2. Press windows key.
3. Unplug any controllers.

Discord was loaded via browser, not the app. No overlay as I was using the browser to check info on the game while playing.

WIndows key only does the same as the alt tab used to go to desktop. Windows key and tab to select the desired window or alt tab to go to desktop. This doesn't make a software mouse cursor disappear. I tried everything.

I don't use a controller

Nothing I did could make the software mouse disappear as it was stuck overlayed on the fishing screen.

It's not a big deal..just a question to see if anyone else ran into this

Never seen anyone complain about it and I've been around here a while.
In my experience, it's usually caused by overlays.
Maybe try disabling steam overlay, and make sure to launch steam as admin.
If push comes to shove, you can request a transfer to the standalone client and see if that fixes it.

My fault @Grandizer. When it comes to troubleshooting I am a bit limited as I am not tech support which is why I defaulted to posting the link. I totally missed in your post that it was identical.
