Can someone explain me what is "clip" and how to use it?
Hi, how it works? I didn't know that you can use ctrl+ and - feature...

IRL, a clip is a small plastic tab on the side of the spool where you can pinch your line and stop it from coming out. In the game, it allows you to select a distance (m) of how far you want to cast. Once the lure or bait reaches the distance, it will stop regardless of how hard you cast. To use:

With the rod "ready to cast" Hold L Ctrl + numpad + and - and select the desired distance, and you are ready to cast. :steamhappy:

It is useful for when you want to cast to the same distance every time. It is especially useful when you need to throw groundbait or boilies out with a seperate tool (spod or slingshot), so that you can put your rigs right into the area you are baiting.

Thx a lot, but is it really accurate? Not depend about other details like rod lenght, etc... ?
And how to know how far you can cast without using it? (max distance when not using it?)

Yes, it is accurate. Because the line is clipped, the lure or bait is unable to go past the clipped distance. It may not go far enough if you do not cast hard enough to start, or if the clip is to far for your gear. Tackle weight, rod length, and reel spool size play into how far you can cast.

You may find that if your skill of the specific rod you are using is low, the tackle may veer off to the left or right. A strong cross wind may cause this as well.

You can easily test how far you are able to cast without it by simply turning off the clip if you hold ctrl and - until it shows "OFF"

In fact i don't understand when you say it's easy to see max distance.
When i move from OFF, i see meters and max is 208 meters !!!

that's the 208 meters of line on the spool. If you want to see the effect of line clipping, put it at 1 meter and cast your rod as hard as you can.

You will see it go out 1 meter and land 1 meter in front of you. You can repeat this casting multiple times and will notice it's always the same distance.

How precise it actually lands, as in the exact same spot each cast or not, depends on various skills associated with casting. You will need to put points in those to get a consistent cast.

Even though you clip the line for a certain distance, you still have to use commonsense with the amount of power when casting. Example: set clip at 15m, cast at full power, bait/lead will reach the distance and bounce back so 15m becomes 10m, and if you dont cast hard enough bait/lead might not reach the distance set.

Nice, didn't know that.
