With the rod "ready to cast" Hold L Ctrl + numpad + and - and select the desired distance, and you are ready to cast.
It is useful for when you want to cast to the same distance every time. It is especially useful when you need to throw groundbait or boilies out with a seperate tool (spod or slingshot), so that you can put your rigs right into the area you are baiting.
And how to know how far you can cast without using it? (max distance when not using it?)
You may find that if your skill of the specific rod you are using is low, the tackle may veer off to the left or right. A strong cross wind may cause this as well.
You can easily test how far you are able to cast without it by simply turning off the clip if you hold ctrl and - until it shows "OFF"
When i move from OFF, i see meters and max is 208 meters !!!
that's the 208 meters of line on the spool. If you want to see the effect of line clipping, put it at 1 meter and cast your rod as hard as you can.
You will see it go out 1 meter and land 1 meter in front of you. You can repeat this casting multiple times and will notice it's always the same distance.
How precise it actually lands, as in the exact same spot each cast or not, depends on various skills associated with casting. You will need to put points in those to get a consistent cast.
