About deactivation of Ingame chat

Dear players,

Due to the recent events, we had to temporarily deactivate the chat functions in game for most regions.
This topic is far too serious and sad to discuss on a fishing game chat.
It is our job to make the chats, forums and discords a place where people can enjoy their well deserved spare time.
Due to the unfortunate amount of messages with political content at best, and pure hate at worst, that is sadly not possible right now.

In some regions this problem is not as severe. For now we were able to leave the chats active there. For all other regions we hope to reopen them as soon as possible.

In RF4 we come together for fishing, for enjoying our hobby and hopefully making new friends. Because this hobby is what should unite us, independent of where we come from or who we are!

why can't we at least keep the private chats open? we have a group of around 300 romanians where we share tips and spots for fishing, even helping eachother with items and such. I understand blocking local chats but the private ones?

We are working on tools to give the creators of private chats more control over them. Once this is possible we can hopefully reactivate this feature.

If you would have seen what was happening in the chat pre-disable, you would understand why they thought this was best, it was creating a very hostile environment, it was the last thing any of us want when we're trying to relax and play video games.
I play video games to forget about all the bad in the world, and everything going on in my life... I do it to unwind, not to be reminded of all the hell and hatred.. It's my time to just forget for a few hours... Not to see a bunch of people on a video game going back and fourth about political things they honestly barely have a clue over. Chat is not disabled forever, it'll be temporary and as stated they are looking for ways to make it safer,
if you're going to leave over something like that, it's your loss, no on elses.

I'm Brazilian and I've loved Russia and Ukraine equally for years, my favourite band is Druha Rika (Ukrainian) and singer is Linda (Russian). They're sibling countries. with family and friends in each other's lands. To know that this game was made by people from both places together, just like Metro trilogy, makes me respect it more. I'm new to this game, to the simulator genre in general, but this is beautiful, I want to try it further.
With ignorant people randomly attacking anything with the word Russia on it, often forgetting the wars their own countries have participated and/or manipulated to start through the decades, it's completely understandable that the developers need to close the chat for some time. Let's not forget our own sins before falling to sensationalism.

If you guys disabled chat, for all, why Chinese still using it, that is making very sad, to others players, I think is very unfair, thanks for great game
