Killed a Fairy
Early into the game, I found a chest (don't recall what was inside), but a fairy also came flying out. I tried to catch it, but could not, so just killed it instead. Any one know the purpose of that?

Some of them are trophies for your trophy room. You never catch them, they just come, flit around and fly away. Later you see a cage with a statue of one in your trophy room.
Im not sure but if you kill them you may loose out on a trophy.

I may have to jump back in to test that theory.

It looks like murdering the fairies has no effect on auto-collection of their associated trophy cages. I killed the fairies in The Sewers and The Crone's Lair on sight, but their associated trophy cages were still on the top shelf (middle and left, respectively) when I zipped back to the workshop. And you can't even kill any of the Oubliette of Charn fairies that trigger the third cage auto-collection, since they wrap themselves in a magic nullification sphere as soon as you free them from their cages in-game. As soon as you've freed any of the three fairies in the Oubliette of Charn associated with materializing the statue puzzle pieces, the third fairy trophy cage will be present in the workshop.

Thanks for the research!
