Static noise

I'm playing this off the generic install from steam and I am getting a constant static on the sound in the background. I've seen the post about crackling but this is more consistent. Plus I don't have the discs so that bug fix doesn't make sense. Anyone have some suggestions on maybe editing the DOSBox lsl7.conf file. Maybe it has something to do with the cpu (cycles) or mixer settings. Thanks in advance!

Same here. The audio starts crackling randomly and stays that way until you exit the room or the scene changes. Also audio randomly stutters and jumps. I've read it's a DosBox issue.

My original post was over 2 years ago, and I never found a fix for it. Or anyone that has posted about it. Good thing the game is short and from what I recall sound was mostly optional. Good luck!

I haven't run into the issue when using ScrummVM to play the game. You could give that a try, but just be warned that none of your save files will be available so you'll have to pretty much start over.
