The Turing Canal Decision Time
How do I judge status of player?
How do I judge whether playing has been successful in game up to this point or not?
1. I'm unsure why you may have choppy audio - do you meet the minimum hardware requirements?
2. The screen bars are a style choice and can't be removed.
3. I'm not sure where you're referring to, but if you're caught whilst doing something you shouldn't be (i.e copying a floppy disk) then you will be removed from that area by security.
4. The main penalty is the achievement but the game will note that you were caught somewhere you shouldn't be through dialogue also.
5. You can't judge the status of the player (in a UI type mode if that's what you mean?). But the subsequent VO + ending will reflect that.
Does that help answer everything you were wondering about?
Thanks!
So you are saying that at end of game player will indeed have a reckoning of what tasks they failed and what tasks they were caught by security. Is that what you are saying?
So then if the main objectives weren't reached during game play then game will (at ending) show that player failed at game despite the fact that player is still allowed to continue game play.
In other words I may have already failed game whilst in the middle of game play but I will not be told this until end of game. Is this correct?
Can anyone please explain this to me?
I should also note we are working on a 'Chapter Select' feature which will allow you to go back into chapters of the game to replace any specific sections you'd like to.
Hope that helps!
So what happens if i am at gardens? I went back and repeated chapter (before speaking to woman)
Yes, security guard caught me and gave me a warning.
How will this count against me?
I got two out of three:
Is two out of three enough or not enough?
Fair Union Act and one other one. I missed getting the other one.
This leads to a very important question for me;
Is it more important to evade security guards OR is it more important to have all evidence collected and ready for interview?
This part of what you said was something that completely made no sense to me...specifically:
"if you are caught doing something you shouldn't be, that would mean you 'failed' that section of the game however the game will continue and you will get the narrative outcome based on your play through"
How can a player "fail" and still continue on playing? That makes no sense to me. Can you explain this?
You should always aim to evade security guards whilst you're in areas you shouldn't be, but the player's main goal is to collect evidence ready for the interview.
two out of three is enough - it's however many you can collect in the time.
Getting caught by security means that you're removed from the area and you would have to find your way back there if there was something in the room you require as evidence.
But you said:
"you will get the narrative outcome based on your play through" all right disregarding for a moment the final chapter:
I get the sense from what you are saying is that the narrative outcome is like a grade A,B,C etc and that some players will receive a better narrative outcome whilst others will receive a lesser narrative outcome (again disregarding for a moment the final chapter)
