How to host your own dedicated server to play single player

Here are the steps to hosting your own dedicated server:

We temporarily disabled single player for the time being but fear not survivors, here are the steps to get your server up and running so you can still play single player for the time being.

-Navigate to the main menu

-Select “Host/Local”

-Adjust to desired game settings (optional)

-Select Run Dedicated Server

-Set your Server Password, Admin Password and Session Name

-Select Accept

-Allow Access through firewall and make it both private and public (if you forget to do this on the prompt you can find the settings from Control Panel>System and Security > Windows Defender Firewall > Allowed Apps (select Moonlight and make it both checked for private and public)

-A CMD prompt should start, wait a few minutes for it to say the server has successfully started.

-Leave the CMD prompt open and go back to the main menu

-Click join game

-Change the session filter to LAN

-You should be able to find your server there and join with the server password you made in the steps above

-Keep in mind you will be using the same machine client for server hosting as you will be playing on.

-If you are unable to view your server, try joining another server and then relog to see if your server shows up.

I bought the game because of real single player without hosting own server which take resources from my poor old computer ;p How long can take turning on something what already was on the beginning?

i just cant get it to work my firewall is controlled by kaspersky so im not too sure if im getting it rite also im still learning with all this pc stuff so if you could help me out it would be well appreciated

if you do this in the msg above you can make your own server so no one can join till they turn single player back on but i cant seem to get it to work

Can i plz get an eta on when exactly it will be turned back on. I really would like to run a dedicated server. An be able to have a friend on lan to join. I know its along shot... thx

I dont think its been turned off per-say but I had to reinstall my game completly to get it to work (deleted the regs too) not sure what you have tried but now whenever I try it (testing it now) I must basicly redo the whole setup process then setpup the pass like normal and then hit play and wait almost 15-30 mins or more while it builds, so dont touch it or anything like that and give it the time and it "should" tell you that the build was successful and then just go back in the game(alt-tab) and hit refresh and it should appear like it shoud and then your in. It does seem to save your data for it tho so that is nice just having to reset somethings can be annoying

Also you have to do this everytime you leave the game as it wont show like other games will so evertime you fire up the game you have to let it build...everytime

Thank you. im aware on how it works an it works well for me only. but for some reason the computer next to me cant find my server. An on ark it finds my server easy?

I think at that point it makes it multiplayer as you would have two ppl on at the same time, someone with more exp would need to correct me on that but one thing you could try in order to have the same world etc is to move the files that the was built over to the other computer and try that but I do think all that would do is just let a single player play on the same world just on a different computer.
Sorry for misreading lol do try to get intouch with support and maybe in 6 yrs they will get back to you haha, but if they are connected to each other by cable it should work or possibly over wireless but if you havent tried to have the two computers connected (by wire) try that and see how it goes?

Just tried for 30 minutes to host a damn server, no dice. Shouldn't have to jump through a bynch of hoops to play by myself with my own settings. Refunding this garbage until they bring back singleplayer.
