Anyone find out a way for this game to work with a Controller or Gamepad?

The game automatically detects my Xbox 360 controller.
(Though I use a keyboard and not the controller.)

This topic says you can go to Steam -> Settings -> Controller -> General Controller Settings for other controllers like PlayStation controllers.

It not detect my usb controller, nor x360ce which I use to emulate a 360 controller for games that do not have 3rd party controller support. (I use a Dualshock 2 with a usb adapter). I have to use Joy2Key just to use my controller for this. Is there a way to have games like this properly detect 3rd party controllers?

There are some games you have to use the 360ce x64 executable to make it work

I use a PS4 controller and it works without any kind of black magic. The game seems to be nicely integrated with steam input.

In another game I've noticed that my steam controller remapping didn't work when I started the game directly by clicking its executable instead of starting the game from steam or using the desktop icon created by steam.

I use a ps4 controller but the game doesn't detect that I even have it. Others do, no problem, but this game doesn't. It's completely random it seems.
