Loving Shantae!

I bought this game a few days ago during the sale. I'm getting close to finishing the base story of this game I think (at Risky's Hideout) and I love it. The characters, the art style, the graphics, and the music. It's all great!

Only a few gripes, like some locations are very difficult to find (mouse maze I mermaid falls is one) and some areas i died a lot before I figured out what you were supposed to do (first part of cape crustacean). Some of the transformations or powers seem underused or underwhelming ( bat ability only used in 1 room so far or mouse bite, only used spider like twice and haven't used the venom ability at all yet).

I know there are older games with more pixel type graphics. Are they worth playing? I just love the graphics in this game, so will be hard to take a step back there.

Would definitely love to see more Shantae games in half genie hero style!
Maybe add full voice acting and animated cutscenes too!

If you go to games kickstarter page you will see that they actually planned to get full VA, animated cutscenes and more episodes for the main story (which explains why the transformations arent used so much, there is simply no room for that). Sadly, they didnt raise enough funds.

ah, that sucks. The game seems to have received good reviews. Did it sell well enough for them to make more, or is there any news of new game any time in the future?

I mean a step back from Half Genie Hero's graphics.
I enjoy some pixel graphics games, just depends on how it's done.

I dont think they ever released any info on sale numbers. Judging by devs social media they r doing fine. No news about the next game though. You can try Hollow Knight if you want something similar (not identical, hollow knight is closer to a metroidvania, but it has a ton of action and platforming if thats what you are looking for + it looks great).
