Game doesn't save and can't import Saves

So, recently reopened the game and no saves in existence. Alright, it's been a long time so I just started over. Being careful, I made a manual save. However, not only is my game wiped again after starting today, clicking Import Save does nothing. Is this actually in any way playable?

Works perfectly fine for me.

Just closed the game and then opened it again and the save was loaded right where I stopped it.

Lots of games will not cloud-save so if anything happens to the save file that's on your PC you'll be stuck starting from scratch. Maybe you can look to see where the original file is on your PC? If you've changed PC hardware or install games to a different folder than before, that might be the cause as well.
