Pallisades
Today I built the palisades for the first time and they seem to be bugged.
Perseverance works but they don't give any bonus in the current run. The archer BPs remains the same no matter how many palisades you build.
In the palisade description it says that they increase the swordmen BPs.

It requires your second level of structure, same with the wall, before you start getting a +bp bonus.

I feel that the way it currently works is not very innovative! But yeah, you get the palisades in the kingdom tab to level 2, it gives you a 1x multiplier. lvl 3 gives 2x, etc, lvl 10 gives 9x.

Their BP does increase though. I made a thread on this stuff and why archers aren't as cool as swordsmen, and people were being combative of what I wrote so I just deleted the thread.
Oh right, I forgot about that. But theres still the bug with the new spell or does it work for you ?

So let me get Pallisade stragegy:
- I make a money focused build so that I can get to pallisades with elves
- Then they are no better than soldiers, except weaker due to pallisades costing more than walls
- So I need to pump lots of elf assimilation points into +BP bonus for elves and still get back to the same pallisades position with my +happiness bonus lost.
- Then I'll get a bigger BP I guess?

This seems like a very narrow strategy. "Here is a building, but the only use you'll get is if you have high levels of assimilation and use it in this exact way.." Or am I missing some strategies?

Eh, the way I see it, you've pretty much nailed it! I find it to be pretty worthless in comparison to soldiers, as the extra levels in the wall [until insanely high amounts of gold, where gold doesn't matter only food] will outweigh the benefits.

Even then, at that point, you're pitting racial perk points vs the garrison building, which will be like nothing compared to the bonus from the buildings.

Honestly, the only reason elves are cooler than soldiers is because you can get them with only a single reset, and then do cool things after that, like go straight towards the next tier of elves! But yeah, not too impressed here personally!
There is no turning point, no bell shaped curve where they ever become better, it's just, more of the same, but worse.
Again, as the game has many many versions to go, there are definitely a lot of variables that can be added into the game to make it infinitely cooler, but as it stands now, nothing distinctive between the two!

Good point - I will try to do that in the future.

As far as Palisades goes.. I use it quite often. It's not an early game building.

I use it with the build called, Super Fairies.
here's a link to the subreddit for this game. Where you can see the recent post about Super Fairies.

We need more people to post there since the wiki is out of date and there's no guides here on steam.

I mean, it's lazy and easy to go the same build. But I don't see how going palisades holds any bit of a candle vs going city walls other than not having to move cows.

One of the ways you can personally test it is by saving your file before going palisades. This time, go city walls instead and reset at 10k+.

Finally, end the final run by converting to farm/homestead, 1tril+ happiness on your house [lol]. I'm curious to see how quickly your run will progress in comparison to super faeries! You won't be able to tech up as much because you will be earning drastically less gold, but you'll be able to get a lot more city wall levels and more food. Typically I'd personally rather just swap to govs on run 2 or 3 and then go humans, but eh, this strategy does require less movement of cows which is nice.

I've done both, and they both take the same amount of time. As far are using them to do Elf/Nomad. For longer runs for druid/warlocks I don't use Super Fairies the entire time. Instead, I have switched back to farm/homestead and recently did wagon/butcher build for warlock 6.

Here's my final run for nomad 29. Only using super fairies. I'll have it within 20 to 30 minutes.

Tree of Fairies is at upgrade 69, Druid Grove at upgrade 17.
With 52k% fatigue on archers.

Once you gain enough assim points archers is just as good as swordsmen for Elf/Nomad assims.

edit: final screenshot of nomad 29 done -- only using super fairies.
