Can you get Avenger on a Wolftouched hero?

I want to get the Avenger pet for my Wolftouched hero and the event doesn't seem to want to trigger. Can I get the event to spawn even though my warrior is fully transformed and ergo doesn't have the option to pick the sword? Or can it trigger anyway and I only end up with the option to get the rabbit?

No, a warrior with theme arms (any theme arms) is not eligible for the Avenger event and thus cannot get the rabbit.

There might be a way. While hero with theme arms probably can't trigger this event, another hero in the party could. And if he would suffer a tragic accident in the following battle, the event will pick somebody else to get Avenger. Could be your Woulftouched.

It happened long ago, and I don't remember details, but I do have Avenger (rabbit) on my fully skeletal hero, so she probably got it that way.

I didn't even consider that route, but I can confirm that this does work. If you have another warrior in the party that triggers the event and that warrior is either maimed or killed in the battle, then the rabbit will go to a different warrior in the party. You can get the rabbit on a fully transformed hero this way.
