Or am I unlucky?

Someone who is a lover of a hero who has children should still be eligible for Havenbeams. In addition to the other requirements. They can't have ever had their own child in any campaign, even if the child was not saved to legacy, though (but you can bypass this by temporarily deleting the "parentOf" aspect).

Something is blocking my loyal. 3 times the other hook (brash) got picked, now that there's no morthagi in the pool it skipped that hero and went to another one as soon as he got 3 relationship. Maybe my fmaily bug

My "main" legacy Warrior had this issue in my old legacy. Loyal can be a pain to trigger. I make sure to NOT use the Loyal hook now when I create the character. I am sorry that I cannot offer further help even though I've had a similar experience and sympathize with your frustration on this one.

I'd turn devmode and event picking on so you can see what part of the targets is causing it to fail.

How do I do that?

You put a blank file called "devMode.txt" in the Wildermyth folder (https://wildermyth.com/wiki/Testing), then in your campaign just before the opportunity pops up, go to "Options" -> "This Game" and turn on cheats and event picking. When the opportunity triggers, instead of automatically choosing one, a page will pop up showing the events that are possible and the (first) reason targets fail for the ones that are not possible.

In the case of opportunities, you may still need to reload a few times so that it chooses the Loyal hero for the opportunity and the other hero as the helper. I'd go back to the save where Brash kept popping up, if possible, since you know it can choose the Loyal hero there.

Got blinking game again so something must be blocking loyal, i'll try event picking when i'm sufficiently not pissed at the game to do it

It's the lover's child that's blocking havenbeams

Thanks, I updated the targets on the wiki. For clarification, the focus hero *is* allowed to have a lover with children, but neither the focus hero nor the helper are allowed to have children (in any campaign), so if the helper is a lover with a child, the event won't be able to happen.

Would deleting the childern of the hero in questions with the loyal hook from the legacy work too? I have a ballad-sung warrior that I just can't get the Loyal hook to work as well.

Removing the child from legacy does not work. I think the best way would be to remove the "parentOf*" aspect(s) from the affected heroes just before the event is about to trigger. I *think* the aspects will come back automatically after a bit.

If I have one hero in my party who's a parent, will the game default to selecting the heroes without the parentOf aspect? (I'm sorry if the question sounds redundant, I'm just somewhat afraid of messing with the game too much.)

is the first character to reach the correct relationship level is a parent, it'll try to go to another hook quest, if it can't it'll try to go for another pair when they have the correct relationship

I had a character who got Havenbeams who already had children with the character they went with.
