Dragon Age, specifically Origins (2 and Inquisition were good. But Origins was the true 'masterpiece imho') is absolutely amazing and I cannot recommend it enough.
Unfortunately wildermyth is pretty unique in its setup so there isnt alot of other things that match up similarly.
I cannot recommend DOSII enough though. If you liked Origins (or dragon age in general) you'll probably enjoy DOSII.
Theres also Mass Effect and SWTOR if you wanted to step outside the fantasy genre.
I played SWTOR with kotor included. You have similar tastes lol. Origins is one of the best games i played so ill give a try to DOSII
Yeah! Nice. Love SWTOR and I did enjoy KOTOR. I did feel like KOTOR was a bit older than I would have liked. If you haven't played Mass Effect you should. Absolute masterpiece of a series (1, 2 and 3. Andromeda was meh)
DOS2 though. Yeah, Divinity Original Sin 2 as far as writing goes stacks up next to Baldurs Gate 1 and 2. And its much newer and easier to play.
Nice to meet another well cultured individual
This one, off the top of my head.
I like this one better then the pathfinder, an Larian games.. why? because with barely any money .. an even less help the game overall is a better product =) There is also a semi-decent amount of community content, an hopefully more coming.. While lacking the art style of Wider.. it has good role playing bones..

The idea is pretty much the same as Wildermyth, yet it's older and much better on all fronts from gameplay to quality of writing
but is it similar to wildermyth? looks more like a indie heros of might an magic type of game.. ie fantasy CIV.. with less depth?
You have individual people with their own skills and classes. In thea 1 you start with human party, but later you can get other races through dialogues. In thea 2 you can unlock points to start with non-human race, who are stronger. You can (should) equip them. If they die - they die for good. You must also explore and supply your people.
You will have quite a lot of reading, but it's also voiced. Dialogue choices are good and impactful enough(for example you can get someone to join you or even transform your guy to undead). The combat is card based and you have 2 types: lethal and unlethal skill checks. Combat is rather different in Thea1 and 2, but they offer more depth than Wildermyth.
In Thea 1 you have 1 village and if you lose it game over. In Thea 2 you can have multiple villages or even none at all with nomad playstyle.
It has almost nothing in common with HoMM and civ. It is an RPG first, not 4x.
power ranger count as super heroes riiiiiiiiiiight
Great and undervalued game by the creators of modern Xcom 1 + 2.
Superheroes and turnbased with card mechanics, but don't let that scare you. For downtown you get to socialise with Tony Stark and Blade etc. and do bookclubs and build gadgets. It is very unique and the battles are challenging and immersive.
Also it is 75% off right now. :-)
my favorite turn base game of the year
I wish so much the graphical style was anything else in this game. I'm not a super graphics person but some games for sure hit wrong. Fell Seal and Battle Brothers are the same, which sucks.
