Love and Transformation
Quick question. I've noticed my transformed folks never getting a party spouse (I've had one have a child by other means). Time and time again, unless they have their lover before a transformation, they end up alone. Is that part of the game? I want my fireman to find love in a crowwoman...

I've noticed this as well.. my beast touched characters never start loving relationships with anyone in the company. I know that personalities and preferences have to be compatible.. but.. never seems to happen.

.. but I know it -is- a thing because I've seen a screenshot of a scene with a Crowtouched head Hero suggesting a romance.

It happens. It's just a matter of compatible matches; some of the transformations require a specific high personality trait, which limits the options.

My wolftouched hunter and mystic had a daughter so it for sure is possible.

I have two legacy heroes that always gets hitched with each other no matter what. One's a Crow and storm-touched, the other is Gem-themed. Its like their love transcends time and space.

I think part of what you're seeing is that compatible characters tend to fall in love pretty early on, while you'll tend to get transformations some way into a character's story. So it's not that transformations make a character less likely to fall in love so much as that they're less likely to transform until they've already established if they've got a good partner or not.

Yesterday I experienced for the first time a special series of event, in which a character gave up their existing spouse to get together with another - and in the follow up the spouse who was alone got proposed when she was about to die.

All of those four characters were transformed, two of them fully transformed.

So I can support the thought it must be more a matter of compatibility. If one wants to "enforce" romance, one can always start a campaign to make that happen. Yet it is definitely more interesting between characters which you did not shaped into the form you imagined, leading to such interesting stories.

Realtionships are a mater of compatible personality:

I had a Flame touched that is hooking up with a new woman every Adventure.

None of my transformed lovebirds ever have kids... is that a thing with anyone else?

one of my mages had crystal sword arm and crystal eye, she had a daughter but the father wasnt from the party

I am 90% sure I had one transforming character have a kid.

Note that the game does not simulate children until they appear as characters.
It keeps tracks of possible parent pairings. And when it needs a kid to pad the party, it will spawn one with a sensible birthdate and parents.

I can confirm there's no code preventing romance or children for heroes with transformations, I think the explanations in this thread are basically correct.

Guess I’m just unlucky. Is so funny how a difference in traits changed up the entire experience from player to player.

So an update on this;

After around fifteen attempts of starting a campaign with the two characters I wished to romance (of which a third of them started with an event that attempted to mash together the two 'attracted to women' males into a romantic relationship).. I finally managed to get the two characters I intended to fall in love to do so through random romance.

Basically had to swap their personalities until they were exactly the same-- and even then I had two instances where they ended up becoming rivals instead.

So.. it's not impossible.. just have to keep trying.
