Who gets captured by the Gorgon at the end of chapter 1 in the first campaign?

So, at the end of chapter 1 of the "Age of Ulstryx" campaign, one of the party gets captured by the Gorgon and gets a mark of gorgon or something. How is it determined who gets captured? It doesn't seem random, because kept reloading the mission and the same person kept getting captured.

I looked up the event, it targets by personality, your highest hothead, unless your highest is also your highest coward, in which case it will be your second highest hothead. (Highest coward is the one who saves them.)

I have made three different groups and made sure the mystic is the Hothead by a country mile and still my Fighter and Hunter get taken every time, so are you sure the event is playing out right?

Maybe he was the biggest coward to?

(there's another thread going on this topic - but I think he might be hitting the fallback case (if there are not enough heroes at the end of the fight for the main case) in which case it targets leader.
