Difference From Chessbase?

I always wanted to buy Fritz but it was too expensive on Chessbase and usually cheaper on Steam. Why is that? Is it just regional pricing or does this "Steam Edition" lack something?

Fritz 15 on steam was the same game as the one available on Chessbase. I don't think it was the case for previous versions though.

One difference in F15 was, that the Steam Ed. got the updates from Steam, the Chessbase-Fritz got the updates via Chessbase Online.

They decided to remove a lot of features in Fritz 16, hence the lower price. I asked for a refund. Better pay the extra 30 bucks and get the whole package on their own store, it's worth the price difference.

Yeah, I was suspicious when I saw the title: Steam Edition. Something was fishy. I won't buy it.
