Technical Support Thread - Mineko's Night Market
Hi folks!
First off, thank you for playing Mineko’s Night Market.
In this thread, we will be updating various changes we’ve made in each build and list the known issues that are in progress of being fixed.

For any technical support issues and/or bugs you encounter that you don’t see listed here, please report them through our Bug Reporter[docs.google.com]

= UPDATES =

Hi folks,

We are currently aware of the Ramen Shop issue on consoles that players are reporting. We’re trying to get a port out for the consoles and we are in discussions with our partners to get that out as soon as possible.

Unfortunately, there are circumstances beyond our control which have caused an ongoing delay in the process. We will continue to update the game on Steam in the meantime while we work to resolve these issues.

Build V0.8.2.9e (PC/Mac)
  • Fixed infinite toolStoreLock check (prevented some players from exiting their home if they were in a particular quest state after “???”)

Build V0.8.2.9d (PC/Mac)
  • This build fixes a gamebreaking bug where the quest at The Caves was incompletable

Build V0.8.2.9 (PC/OSX)
  • Fixed player icon sometimes disappearing on the Bus Stop Map UI, Bus Map sometimes becoming inactive
  • Disable cat/hairball interactions during Metal Rock minigame
  • Temple Apprentice at Nikko Temple accepts normal/perfect, not just perfect
  • Updated Camera fade-in checker (updated action for porting team to address ramen shop bug on consoles)
  • Tool Shop reopens after ??? quest (to address issue where some players missed buying a particular tool)
  • Reset Sneak mode on player switch (addresses bug of Mineko being in half sneak mode during some player switch scenarios)
  • Added missing "¿¡" characters to font

Build V0.8.2.6 (PC/OSX)
  • Fixed (for good???) end of Ramen Shop sometimes getting stuck on loading screen if completed at end of night
  • Fixed (for good???) a certain NPC that is appearing in the Village/Market when they’re supposed to be missing
  • Fixed Agents sometimes not appearing outside home on cutscene
  • Force UI focus on Close button on tutorial opens

Build V0.8.2.5 (PC/OSX)
  • Block interactions during mining minigame to avoid double interaction bugs
  • Possible fix for Bus Stop UI Map sometimes being non-interactive
  • Journal/Inventory buttons now close Bus Stop Map if above fails
  • Fixed rendering on a Cliffside ship material
  • Fixed gray/orange hairball look descriptions
  • Fixed Moriko's hearts showing above Oda
  • Fixed collider player was getting stuck on at The Gardens
  • Added missing characters to font files: ÁÍÓÚÑ
  • Typo fixes
  • More work on Audio ducking during loading screens (for consoles)
Porting work for XBox/PS5 (with fixes including the “Friend To All” Achievement not awarding) is done and should enter the submission period shortly

Build V0.8.2.3 (PC/OSX)
  • Fixed “Friend To All” Achievement to award properly
  • Audio ducking during loading screens (in preparation for Switch audio hitching issues)
  • Unblock frozen player on Ramen Shop entry
  • Fixed Gift Envelope Look description
  • Fixed rock name sometimes being incorrect after mining

Build V0.8.2.2 (PC/OSX)
  • Fixed Ramen Shop quest getting stuck on black screen during certain scenarios
  • Fixed an issue of crabs purchased at the Night Market sometimes not showing up in the Inventory
  • Fixed wrong name being shown in some food museum items

Build 1.0.5 Changelog (Nintendo Switch)

  • Fixed delays upon using the Sewing/Art/Gem craftbenches
  • Fixed delays when switching costumes via Wardrobe
  • Fixed delays upon completion of the Metal Detecting minigame
  • Fixed delay during Mineko/Nikko player switching

Build V0.8.2.1 Changelog (PC/OSX)
  • Fixed Nikko not re-appearing in backyard after end in some players' saves
  • Fixed Items sometimes not showing up at the Market Fry Booth
  • Mulberry branches now yield 2 instead of 1 on every pick-up
  • Balanced some Market Food items that were way too rare with a better chance at showing up during any season
  • Tweaked Boximal rarities (Catfish and Nikko are less impossible to receive)
  • You can now interact with and see the names of donated items in the Museums

Build V0.8.2.0 Changelog (PC/OSX)
  • The digging minigame at the Beach and Cliffside has been redone to now play in-situ instead of in a minigame window. Digging still launches from interacting with the Digging Booth NPC to enter “metal detecting mode”. The player can now manually explore the Beach and Cliffside with the metal detector to look for items. Heading back towards the Booth/Bus Stop and leaving the “metal detecting area” will automatically remove the player from “metal detecting mode”.

Build V0.8.1.3 Changelog (PC/OSX)
  • Octo Pull now plays in-situ instead of in a minigame window to avoid minigame freezes
  • Octo Pull now costs $30 instead of $50 with higher reward yields for some resource prizes
  • Fixed stutter on Mineko when sneak walking
  • Nikko Quests are re-activated on completion of main storyline
  • Fixed Chika sometimes taking Terracotta Planters from the player even if you don’t have enough
  • Increased text size in control remapper
  • Fixed proper music playing during Market Events
  • Block Nikko chase from occurring before sleeping
  • Fixed HQ UI remaining on screen when leaving HQ before completing quest

Build 1.0.4 Changelog (Nintendo Switch)
  • Fixed HQ Floor 2: fly-in camera, main camera, lockers, vents, restarts
  • Nerfed prices of later game craftbenches and tools
  • Nerfed prices of Night Market items
  • Fish booth at market was selling old crab item
  • Tweaked some (inaccurate) papercraft base costs
  • Tweaked NPC bartering rates (used to have a low rate of purchasing higher tier items)
  • Extended BlackScreen/Loading UIs to ensure it covers entire screen
  • Fixed the Dock quest to properly end if the Cat Counter is at 0
  • Removed the old Crab (bugged) inventory item from the game
  • Fixed a <tag> showing up in dialogue
  • Added visible note to empty bottle icon
  • If player accidentally loses the Tool Belt (key item) another one will appear where the previous one was found
  • Fixed an issue with the Bean/GardenPlot quest starting over again
  • Fixed Journal entry to Sugihara looking for 5 Machine Parts, not 4
  • Fixed missing transparency on deco item in General Store
  • Fixed a bug where an NPC that’s supposed to be missing is still showing up in the Night Market
  • Fixed colliders in the Village
  • Increased chances of Beetle Brand Ramen showing up in the General Store
  • Fixed the stuck bottle in The Gardens (you can now take it)
  • Bobo’s Mom won’t mention Art Craftbench if it’s not actually for sale
  • Added Inventory category for Fish (Fish/Squeezed Fish)
  • Inventory Auto-sorts to not leave blank spaces with hidden items below the scroll
  • Fish Museum now only accepts the proper crab item (Old donated crabs will still be honored)
  • Ruby now spawns mostly around the Village, fixed her key item RNG, and now offers two different items per day: one in the Day, one in the evening
  • Fixed Rio’s relationship randomly resetting
  • Added player switch tip to Beach quest intro
  • Fixed Rockin Rolls not being donatable to Market Food Museum
  • Fixed issue of a minigame window that sometimes gets stuck on the screen on the end of Metal Rock mining minigame
  • Fixed a certain NPC not appearing in Village after that NPC was discovered safe
  • Removed bush decorations that were crowding the front of the Food Museum entrance
  • Re-ordered “Display items” (new default) and “Call customers” buttons in Market bartering to avoid accidentally button mashing to call customers too early
  • A memento now appears in Mineko’s room upon completion of the main story
  • Fixed Market Bus cutscene interrupting end game cutscene if completed on a Saturday
  • Digging minigame now rewards 2-5 Clay/Sand per successful hit
  • Fixed resource booth showing up before Cliffside cleared
  • Properly unload Reward UI on digging minigame ends
  • Fixed Rockin Rolls not being donatable to the Market Food Museum
  • Fixed Nikko Follower mentioning wrong season during cutscene
  • Typo fixes
  • Balance: Lowered Energy cost of Mining, Axe, and Hairball picking
  • Bug: NPC Gifting now accepts a combination of regular and perfect versions of crafts if the player has a combination that would make the yield. It will prioritize taking regular versions first
  • Bug: Fixed Granny’s house upgrades not showing up
  • Bug: Fixed an annoying bug where hotspots (magnifying glass interactions) would sometimes stop working for a second or two immediately after closing the Inventory menu
  • Useless cabinet in the room now acts as a Fav Item Display storage box
  • Bug: Planter Boxes are now properly categorized in the Crafting tab of the Inventory
  • Bug: Fixed a specific NPC missing from the Village when they were supposed to be un-missing
  • Bug: Gem Museum now accepts Sparkly Rock
  • Fix for Octogame Freezing

Note: Loading issues and audio hitching during loading are still being investigated and actively being worked on for the next patch, but we wanted to push these changes out as soon as possible to unblock players who are stuck and address a number of the current gameplay issues.

Build V0.8.1.1 Changelog (PC/OSX)
  • Useless cabinet in the room now acts as a Fav Item Display storage box
  • Bug: Planter Boxes are now properly categorized in the Crafting tab of the Inventory
  • Bug: Fixed a specific NPC missing from the Village when they were supposed to be un-missing
  • Bug: Gem Museum now accepts Sparkly Rock

Build V0.8.0.12 Changelog (PC/OSX)
  • Balance: Lowered Energy cost of Mining, Axe, and Hairball picking

All updates will be delayed on consoles due to the porting process

Seems to happen when I try to take the bus in the second half of the day. The bus map opens, but the Mineko icon disappears and the destination circles just blink when I try any kind of input on controller or keyboard. After that I have to kill both the game and Steam from the MS Task Manager.

Can confirm others' reports that it's somehow tied to eating right before opening the bus map.

I'm playing with an xbox gamepad on the PC GamePass version of the game.

I don't know which version is the xbox ecosystem at, but surely not the latest because the achievement fixed mentioned here is still not unlocked by anybody (even on console), so do you have any ETA for when it will be available?

One obvious bug I encountered is that the tutorial button prompts do not match the default button mapping. Actual buttons seems to be better though, so there's that at least.

I also have weird menu behaviors. Sometimes the selected button does not appear as selected visually, sometimes button press seems to count twice. All in all very inconsistent.

It's sad because it seems like a very nice chill game to spent relaxing time on. But reading all the reported issues here, for a material collecting game, I'm not sure I want to invest too much of my time grinding stuff only to hit a gamebreaking wall preventing completion..

I was fishing at the pond after talking to the fish costume kid, and somehow the camera got stuck and remain fixed at the same spot and I can't leave because I don't see my character.

Edit: It unlocked after I talked to him and asked for his story again, camera did a little zoom in and zoom out and got fixed.

Bottles description "there's not even a message in it", but there's always a message in it 🤣. (And it's always the same). Missing some serious QA here.

Trying to use the fishing booth for the first time soft locked my game. I can't select either option so there's no way to play the game and no way to exit out of the dialogue selection. Had to close my game and redo the entire day because of it :/

As a note, I was using an xbox controller. I tried unplugging it and selecting with the mouse & keyboard controls instead but neither worked.

Screen goes black after finishing Dad's Noodle shop. I tried closing the game out and doing everything again, but it did it again. Is this still an issue for others? I see it was supposedly fixed just purchased game on 11/21

In the current version, I still get the Bus Stop UI Map bug when I've eaten just before, but opening the menu works for me to leave the bus map!

I'm still using my original save file, maybe that's a factor.

Friend to All achievement is still not working. Love the game though!

Build V0.8.0.10 Changelog (PC/OSX)
  • Hot fix for an issue where some players were getting stuck in a state where their main quests weren’t advancing after a certain point. If you’ve cleared The Docks, Dark Forest, and The Caves and have a bug where you haven’t seen a particular cutscene at the bus stop that involves the Artifacts and Bobo, take the bus to any location. Upon your return, this cutscene should re-trigger and advance your main quests again.

All updates will be delayed on consoles due to the porting process

This game is so cute, but so aggravating. It keeps freezing at least every once every time I play and the only "fix" is to quit and restart the whole day all over again...

none of the NPCs will appear on the cliffside beach, the heart meter and cat count shows up but there's nothing there to do. I'm stuck unable to progress

Stuck after completing Ramen Shop.
The next day after entering the shop there is an infinite loading screen

I'm playing on gamepass and I'm stuck in an infinite loading screen after the ramen shop grand opening. I can't even play the game now because that cut scene starts right after I leave the house. Luckily I already finished the main story with Nikko, but I was hoping to also finish the other parts of the game, but now I can't.

Playing on playstation 5, please do a patch update, so I can finally platinum the game. The trophy for 'freind to all' does not pop :( I have completed all NPC's to five hearts, but no reward. When will this ne ficed? It's a lovely little game, would love a sequel, but bugs and lags definitely need to be resolved sooner please.

Having an issue with walking into the ramen shop after you complete building and walk outside the next day. You talk to the line of people but once inside you are stuck on the loading screen on the Xbox game pass.
