[SPOILERS] Endings
Did you enjoy the endings? I liked the overall story and the occasional super impactful reveal among the sea of irrelevant or redundant videos, it actually felt like being a detective for real.
But the endings felt very rushed and unnatural. I agree with the three female characters that David was a piece of ♥♥♥♥, but not even listenting to his last words? That sounds like denial, not overcoming your past. The "He was a narcissist so being forgotten is the worst punishment" explanation I read online doesn't feel real. Also doesn't help that the three endings, compared to the rest of the videos, felt like a Dove commercial. I understand the need to give a positive outlook for the remaining characters, but to me it seems a disproportionate punishment for David. At least listen to his last words before he suicide bombed himself, then you can still hate him all your life. Maybe that's the reason, they wanted to crystallize David in their mind as a monster without humanizing him in his last moments.
With this post I don't want to defend David, I hated him most of the game, and his saviour complex was unbearable to witness, from the Paul situation, to the Peter one, to the final boat sequence. It's just that the video where he cries on the boat destroyed me, after all those hours spent watching his relationships rot away as the months passed.

After watching the ending I can't recommend this game

The game could have stopped after Karen's ending, but I appreciate the additional epilogues, especially the brief moments with the older daughters. As for the refusal to watch David's final videos, I'd say Emma and Ava were protecting themselves from further pain, not just refusing out of spite.

The problem is that the endings are a betrayal of everything the game stands for. Besides, how can the cam girl walk away scott free after shooting an agent?
