Screen graphics issues
Does not show the whole screen. Are there any settings that will allow the whole screen to show?

I found a solution. When I loaded the game the screen resolution was all off and I couldn't play a casual game. There is no way to change the settings from the main menu. You need to start one of the campaigns as they are the only games you can access with the messed up resolution. Once in game open the settings menu, this is one of the buttons on the left hand side of the screen. Find the box that says set screen resolution to 800x600 screen. Once you've crossed that it fixes the issue permanently.

Two things that make things much, MUCH easier in regard to running RTII on both modern versions of Windows and, more importantly, on modern high resolution (4K, etc.) monitors are:

https://verokster.blogspot.com/2019/10/railroad-tycoon-ii-gl-wrapper-patch.html

That simple addition is compatible with the Steam release and will translate RT older "directdraw" screen routines into modern OpenGL calls (among other things meaning it opens correctly on all monitors and allows for filtering to improve graphics quality on larger resolutions.

This second file isn't required to make it run, but will clean up a few bugs left by the last "official" patch years ago. You'll want to download the version intended for GOG, it's also compatible with steam.

i got it to work. copy railroad tycoon 2 folder into program files not x 86 then delete in x86 add steam.dll to that folder - change res to 1024 x 768 on desktop - run compatibility for 98 me and disable full screen optimisations leave everything else unchecked hope it helps
