Military industries is just like normal industries really. For example, you deliver steel/aluminium and rubber to the weapons factory and then you take the created weapons to the military depot. Same goes for the Ammunition factory except with chemicals instead of rubber.
Commuters and Airport is slightly different. To effectively use them in the map editor, you need to go to scenario settings --> special restrictions and tick the 'metra' box. All cargo now changes into four main commuter categories: Residential, Commerical, Industrial and Airport. Uncheck the metra box to get it back to normal cargo.
For example, houses/townhouses demand residential commuter cars, and supply commercial, industrial and airport cars. Meanwhile, Commerical buildings demand Commerical while supplying residential and airport. Industrial buildings (your regular industries like coal mines, steel mills, etc.) is similar to commerical except with Industiral instead of Commercial, it also doesn't supply airport. Airport terminals supply residential, commercial while demanding airport.
