Easy to get stuck in the Tutorial

First time, I sold the cloth that covers the table. and did not know I could put in inventory. Second time. I can't cook any food cus I ate the ingredients eailer cus I was hungry. Cant do anything cus he says "not the time for that"

I'm stuck where it wants me to place the ladder... but I never made one, and it never asked me to, nor can I. Ridiculous.

I'm not sure what's going on with the tutorial either. I think I've tried to get through it 6 times now and have been completely unsuccessful. It seems like if you don't complete the tasks EXACTLY when the tutorial tells you to, it seems to assume you've already moved onto the next task. On my first two attempts I haven't been able to upgrade the workbench because it thinks I'm already on the task to craft a ladder. On my next attempt I was unable to order metal from the mailbox because it already wanted me to go to the forest. Next attempt I couldn't eat because I napped too long and my last attempt at the tutorial left me stranded in the forest because it told me to go home and I wanted to grab all the logs. Since I didn't go home exactly when it said so, I got back to the sign post and Mr. Prepper is telling me that "It's not a good time for that." Not a good time to go home? There's not much else you can do in the forest, dude.

As an aside, I have watched some YouTubers play this game so I understand how the tutorial is SUPPOSED to work - I am just not having the same experience. I did try to play without going through the tutorial, but then it only let me order 3 metal instead of the 8 it lets you order in the tutorial on day one. So the solution to this for me is not to skip the tutorial, but rather to figure out how to get through it.

I have the same problem. I am replaying the game and decided to still play through the tutorial (it has its advantages) but I can't finish tutorial as it skipped certain steps. i.e. I am still collecting wood and it is already at "disassemble wood at workbench" and the game doesn't allow me to go home so I can disassemble. Character says, "It's not a good time for that". I even tried resetting the game and restarting a new game multiple times and it keeps repeating but on some other step of the tutorial. It skips steps which prevents me from finishing the tutorial completely and losing the advantage of doing the tutorial in the first place.

not sure if this will hep the dev team but the Prologue version works fine for the tutorial. Within the full version of the game I have tested this at least 6-7 times. The tutorial checklist is skipping a head before you complete a task. For example, the take a nap at the start. I have yet to get take a nap but the game thinks I have completed the task and skips to go eat something from the fridge.
Same thing happens with the workbench upgrade and ladder. I have tried gathering just 3 logs and up to 4 logs from the woods. I have also pulled books from shelves. Once you disassemble 3 items for wood, it wants you to collect the 8 metal and after that it completely skips the workbench upgrade. Then you continuously get the message that "It's not a good time for that" on the work bench upgrade but you also can't create the ladder without the upgraded workbench.

I have a set of saved files from both the prologue and the full game if you would like or need to compare. Just send me an email for any additional details, questions or the files and I will upload them to where ever you need\want.

I think I found a work around for the tutorial getting stuck or skipping quests. I did not do the double click to run. I walked every where and was able to complete all of day one without any issues, to include taking the nap, workbench upgrade and ladder.

after you sleep it auto clears the double click to run quest and moves you back to a single quest which is the "Hide or grab suspicious items" Agent Inspection.

Hope that helps everyone else who was getting stuck while trying to use the tutorial.

Yep, me too. Cant do anything (not a good time for this) Cant upgrade workbench, cant create a ladder. cant take a nap or sleep. Broken as helll !!. Even if i start a new game.

i am stuck in the woods after going for wood. it wont let me go to the signpost and go back home

i keep having it break in the same spot. Once I get to making the ladder. I have to upgrade the worktable first but it won't let me because once I got the metal from the mail to upgrade the table it instantly skipped to make the ladder and won't let me upgrade the table anymore despite needing to do so get the ladder recipe.

Also if you quit and come back because your frustrated about this you can no longer advance the tutorial but you can play the game but all the bars are gone you need to use hotkeys to build and such and just guess from what the guy says about when to eat and sleep.
