Wolf and Into The Woods exit Bug

I encountered a hilarious bug when I tried to go further into the woods with a wolf present! I wanted to go further into the woods while fighting as little as possible. So I tried to go further into the woods without killing a nearby wolf.

The result was that the wolf tried to attack me as I was going deeper into the woods. My character got stuck along the footprints path, while the wolf ran around and around, unable to attack me. The game got stuck, and I had to end process from task manager.
