Shelves not working properly?

I built the large metal shelve to store my canned food on and it will not let me put canned food or pickle jars on them, is this how they are designed are they for decortation only?

Hello there! Thank you for letting us know. We'll try to allow placing more items on shelves. When the next update comes out feel free to let me know if you still can't place the stuff on shelves that you think should be able to be placed on shelves :)

Shelves are terrible in this game, unless they patch it. Just make crates as you can store way more items. Shelves are just decorative.

It kind of sucks though there are so many options to make your bunker look cool then your are stuck using crates lol

I believe this is def something that can be tested by the team internally w/o having to make a list here.

I did make a thread about this issue in prologue but I guess nothing was ever done? Here is a SS of an example of why shelves are useless.
