You can almost finish the entire game without finding Bob's glasses

Love the game, in fact I spent so much time grinding I totally forgot key plot points about those glasses.

But when I was about 4 months in and reached a wall on everything else everything pointed back to finding those glasses and could I find them ? Nope.

Spent an entire month searching for them - ended up looking on the forum and just two in-game days after getting the glasses I got a perfect ending achievement.

It's pretty crazy how much of the game you can complete when you've forgotten how to get those glasses. In my humble opinion the game should have an additional hint to avoid getting stuck where I got stuck :

When you look at the photograph you get showing the aviator shades, Mr Prepper should have a dialogue popup saying something like "It's a bit weird that Jenny named her plant after this guy."

That would have helped me figure it out when I was months in to the game and had totally forgotten that was even a thing.

Additionally, a bit of a plot hole :

You can find and use the hydrogen that Bob tells you about after you give him his glasses before you even complete the quest. Bob telling me about the hydrogen I had already installed in my rocket about two months ago and me being surprised to learn about it was a little odd to say the least.

Hey it was and still is fun :) I'm just getting my 12 month achievement and will eventually be figuring out how to best do a speed run.

As I said before, great game - absolutely love it.

Back on topic - I know there's a hint in the journal, and I read it many - many times.

I read "I think I saw glasses on another Bob" and I thought, yeah - I did. In the picture. So I looked at the picture and thought - yep - there they are.

Now to the specific issue I had :

The problem I had was that I didn't remember Jenny called her plant Bob, I visited her several times searching for the glasses and she kept telling me that she couldn't give me the pill and I needed to befriend the sleepless. I didn't look at the plant because by then the plant had - in my head - just become something she was holding. That was the problem ... My Brain had switched off looking at it as a separate entity.

Anyway, she doesn't know anything so that's fine I thought, OK, maybe I missed something in her house. Searched the house. Nothing there.

Cleared every level of the mine from 1 to ? again making sure to check every level carefully nothing there.

Maybe it's on the drive and off I went and kept going and going until I couldn't go any further, nothing there.

Maybe in the forest I thought, kept going and going until I couldn't go any further... Nothing there.

I even spent weeks trying to befriend the neighbourhood women because I thought they might eventually unlock something. I got a lot of pies - which were yummy but didn't help much.

At this point I'm thinking I missed something obvious. So I went back to my bunker, took out the photo and I'm looking at it thinking: OK that's me, I'm here, maybe I had them on me and I lost them in the house! Oh my god, I've spent months trying to figure this out and they are behind the fridge. THAT'S IT! Sadly, they weren't. Nor were they behind any other object in the house.

I literally did everything I could in the game apart from click on that plant she is holding and I think that the clue that's given being "I saw them on another Bob" is great but it's missing a second part - where you pick up the picture that DOES show the glasses. At that point having an additional hint could avoid doing all of the above.

Now, I don't mind I did it. But my issue with all of the above is I don't think I would have ever noticed those glasses because I completely forgot she called her plant Bob and after a certain length of time there is nothing in game that tells you specifically that the plant is called Bob. That's why I'm suggesting picking up that photo you kept in a box and looking at it again it suggesting that the plant is called Bob."

Just to emphasise my issue :

If you had put the glasses behind the fridge or behind the sofa, because everything that gets lost ends up behind the fridge of behind the sofa, I would have avoided spoilers... Which I hate :(

I reluctantly gave up on your hint and had to come to the forum to find out about the plant. Your journal hint isn't enough if you are 7 months deep in the game and decide to go hunting for a pair of glasses.

I'm on about 50 hours now and I bought it when it came out.

My only issue is this one puzzle... It's just a little disjointed.

I can and will spend a real time day of in game time grinding out jars of pickles and making my base perfect ... I forgot about this one thing.

When it released I bought it because I like this type of game.

Yeah, I totally missed this as well. I had to look it up because I couldn't even see them. They just didn't register, at all, and the only hint never triggered for me.

I think a big issue with the glasses is, they're so hard to spot. I had no idea the plant was wearing glasses at all. I assumed she would have them and I was looking around her house and since its kind of cluttered, I assumed they were really well hidden.

Maybe make the frames a bit darker, or thicker, or add some kind of sparkle effect to 'Bob' the plant, to draw the eye to that object idk.. I only found them when I read a spoiler :/

Yes, but what I think what tripped up wirewitch and myself is that we didn't see the glasses on the plant. As in they weren't visible enough to be noticed. I understood they had a relationship of some sort, and who to go to, but not what to actually do when I didn't even realize the plant was wearing glasses.
