This game is ideal for those of us who don't really have a life, but want to survive anyway. You know who you are.

Mr. Prepper is a simulation/building game--think The Sims meets Fallout Shelter. The plot is fine, if a bit tropey, and is backed up by well-executed dialog with firmly tongue-in-cheek humor. Mechanically, the game is functional and plays fine, but never really managed to grab me throughout my playthrough.

To some extent, the game suffers from being thematically about being a prepper, but then never actually forces you to rely on your built-up shelter. All of the in-game events that you would think would require it are pretty-easily handled, even late in the game. The controls are generally a little clunky (and really, the "Always Run" option ought to be on by default). The quests are usually pretty good, but some of them could use a bit more signposting--there were several spots where you needed to notice a relatively minor detail in order to continue, and the "how to proceed" instructions given by the quest were sometimes not sufficient to help you figure out how to advance.

The controls are extremely clunky and the UI is a headache to deal with. Couldn't even keep playing
