This game is 4-5 hours long without any replay value.(Overpriced)
I remember I played Onimusha 2 first on my PS2. I enjoyed it too much that I decided to try 1.

when I finished 1 it was quite disappointing:

1 is inferior in combat.(Since it was originally a PS1 game then they decided to turn it into a launch game for PS2)

1 is shorter compared to 2.(Only takes you 4-5 hours to finish)

1 has much less replay value compared to 2.(No different path lines , no harder difficulties)

1's story is quite underdeveloped.

They didn't even bother to port the superior version instead.(Genma Onimusha 1)

So imo don't buy it for 20 dollars. you will be disappointed.

buy it cheap or wait for Onimusha 2.(Which I recommend the latter one)

I have played half of that game. I didn't like that game's story that much. Samanouske had no purpose in the whole storyline other than killing demons.(And the big bad guys that I won't spoil)

I also didn't like the whole time traveling thing.

i have replayed it many times, like very many. But it's not the game for let's say modern times, it is something between classic and obsolete. I still don't count myself for great fan of the game. Also havent played other games of the series.

Play 2 or even Genma Onimusha 1 and Warlords will turn into an outdated game for you.

Warlords has worse combat , no harder difficulty settings , less replay value ,inferior storyline and shorter length compared to later Onimusha games. The only part of it which was enjoyable for me was that one section where you should solve a puzzle as fast as possible.(And you will be game over when you fail at that part)

I have to agree, you can beat this game in less than 3 hours on your first try...20 bucks is really expensive.

The game is great, is my favorite from the series, but they could at least have porte Genma Onimusha.

Yeah I would have at least considered buying Genma version since I never had an Original Xbox.

5 hours is plenty of gameplay time as long as you enjoy it for the price. People pay more for less often. Not ever game has to be a bloated pile of garbage with as much filler as possible to justify more play time.

My only issue with this, is that it's another Crapcom Lazymaster. They can't even be bothered to draw new UI assets. All the textures and pre-rendered backgrounds are just upscaled with something equivalent to Waifu 2x

There is a physical pc version you can buy that does not use Steam if you just want to play it on pc. Goes for about 14 bucks on amazon if you are interested.

I wonder how much the original PC version of Onimusha (only released in Japan) cost.

There is a copy of the japanese ps2 version on amazon for 74 dollars, I would imagine the pc version would cost more if you could find it.
Edit: actually that is for a new copy, used is only 13 dollars

Wait a second amigo, just checked on youtube Genma and Warlords are the same game (at least they have the same beginning and any moment i took from starting the game are the same)!
I played it on pc and it was Warlords, so Genma must be the title for gamestation. Or it was longer and had more content? I'm going to investigate walkthough of it on youtube , by the way thank you for the comment i wanted to see walkthough of second Onimusha long ago and forgot about it ))

Genma was the Xbox version, it included new weapon, the "oni trigger" present in the rest of the series, and a lot of costumes.
