Onimusha 2 & 3 Remastered Cancelled but we still can save the series

Dusk Golem, a very credible insider of Capcom who hit several leaks about RE2R, RE3R, RE Village and Monster Hunter for Switch, recently released a note on the status of the Onimusha series.

The note said that Capcom released the remaster of Onimusha Warlords as a test to ascertain the players' interest in the franchise. It was not expected to be a great sales success but unfortunately sales were still below expectations. Capcom planned to released remasters of Onimusha 2 and Onimusha 3 as well but they were canceled due to the low sales of the remaster of Onimusha Warlords.

Unfortunately the series of games Onimusha is in a very complicated situation now but as fans that want new remasters and new games we can do our part.

Anyone who has not purchased the remaster of Onimusha Warlords please if possible buy it. It's an incredible game, the remaster that the game received is also incredible. Compare the remaster with the original version of PS2 and Xbox that you will see a big difference, Capcom really dedicated itself to this remaster.

And please if possible whoever is reading this and likes the series, recommend it on the internet and for your friends to give the remaster of Onimusha Warlords a chance. If we manage to increase the sale of the remaster of that game, we can make the remaster of Onimusha 2 and Onimusha 3 be developed. If both have good sales, we may have a chance to receive a remaster of Onimusha Dawn of Dreams and/or finally a new game.


Please if possible keep this topic active and share. More people need to know this.

I want to buy this since it's on my wishlist too long but unfortunately my financial power is hit by COVID-era and I don't have money at all to spend on my hobbies. Hope the sequel remaster will be developed eventually.

I mean would there be a way to do a fan kickstarter to fund the ports of the onimusha games? I would love to get 2 and 3 but also wouldn't mind if we got dawn of dreams (I know it's not good...I still liked it >.>) and blade warriors (it was onimusha smash bros and it was fun as hell AND mega man e.x.e. and mega man zero was in it....it was hype)

Honestly, I think the problem here wasn't the game, it was definitely marketing. I only found out this existed yesterday when I dug my copy of onimusha 3 out of a box in my closet. I hadn't touched the game since I was a kid so I went to see if there was an updated version available on steam, since my laptop doesn't have a disk reader, and was surprised to see that warlords was even a thing while a remaster for 3 wasn't.

It feels like a fair price now that it is on sale so I bought it, looking forward to playing it through and hopefully seeing more Onimusha on PC in the future. Of course I could just emulate all of it for free aswell but hey.

Netflix announced an anime show today called Onimusha. Hopefully, this means that Capcom is testing waters again to see if people are interested in the series. We may even have a chance of getting remasters of 2, 3 and DOD if the show does well.
