How does this compare PCSX2
How does this compare to playing an original PS2 copy using PCSX2 and cranking the options up?
Anybody played it on both?

Its leauges different, despite the small QoL improvements, but either ways, it should compare similary to the old non-steam pc version, since that one let you skip cutscenes though.

Well, playing in 1080p doesn't break the 3d models and make them be seen through the pre-rendered backgrounds when they shouldn't be. So that's one plus from PCSX2 that I've noticed.

Yeah, that too, however, the game's audio files aren't easy to change than in the old PC version. So its going to take some time.

Much better. There's a new controls scheme, new soundtrack, new Japanese dub, and 16:9 resolution (even if it's just scrolling, but hey, what else were they supposed to do). I recommend this version.

Thanks for the input, I've just bought it from Green Man Gaming with 25% off. The discount made it cheap enough to give it a try.

He probably means that you can choose the japanese dub this time around, whicha actually would be a new feature, i remember that i used to be quite annoyed playing the old ps2 onimusha with the bad english voice acting and very much wished for a japanese audio option.

They made new soundtracks for the remaster and had to remove the original PS2 ones.

The only one reason for playing this version is 60 fps support and new control scheme.

Yes, the old PC version had the original Japanese voice acting as well.

I saw Shikarro's playthough annoys me seeing treasure in the distance that should be hidden in the background.

PS2 wise, the European release only had the English dub. It was only the American release that let you choose between English and Japanese.
