Stuck after finding Decorated Sword

I just got the Decorated Sword, and all the walkthroughs tell me to head back to the courtyard where a custscne will involve some bugs breaking down the wooden door, revealing the spot where I can actually use the Decorated Sword to unlock the next area, but when I go back ot the courtyard there is no cutscene, just randomly enemies spawning.

Any suggestions? Did I forget a step?

thats strange....its the place right to the entrance (like two steps) to the yard., in the lower part. Yard is of course the part from which you may enter the Building.

Use the plate on the last sealed door in the castle first. That should progress the game and trigger the cutscene in the courtyard.

I forgot the name of the item, but you should have it by now. It's that large door, just a few rooms forward after the entrance. It has a blue and red demon structure. The plate looks like ribs.

I'll give this a shot! I thought I already put it on, but I never tried opening the door.

Yes. Open it, you'll see a cutscene (no spoilers) and immediately after you get to go back :)

You need to put Evil Plate in the door inside the keep and that will trigger an event out in that courtyard that will break the door you need open, then you'll be able to place the sword.
