Why did they remaster Warlords, not Genma?
Genma Onimusha was an updated port for the Xbox which featured new explorable areas, new enemies like that doll girl, new costumes and body armor, new tug of war gameplay with the orbs, changes in enemy placements, 3 tier attack to each weapon, and a few other things. It was definitely the definitive version of the game. Porting the base game and not that is laughable. Good thing I still have it on the original Xbox.

Ok so I was about to bring up the same exact thing until I seen your post. I own the Japanese version of Genma Onimusha and played the U.S. version of Genma. I have no I dea as I was playing the first 40min of the game I was thinking... Damn I can't steal souls faster, there's no creepy doll.... What give Capcom?? But you know what? maybe they are waiting to update it later? Like make it an option to play the ps2 OG or switch between the Xbox ver. Ya know? Only one can hope. SMH I can't belive me and a thousand other ppl where thinking the same thing. Who would of thunk it?

Either rights issues, or this was cheaper and easier to port. Likely laziness.

Sure, they added all these cool extras such as weapon switching, 16:9 resolution and analogue stick support because they're laaaazy.
Most likely right issues.

I prefer the title Onimusha Warlords over Genma Onimusha but that version should definitely be included in this remaster.

Seeing as it is Capcom I would expect them to release it as DLC.

The Genma-version was made as an exclusive deal with Microsoft: it was many years ago, but the deal still has legal force, and Capcom can't re-release it without Microsoft's agreement on the matter.

Because there already was a PC version of original which required only a HR facelifting. Genma would require to port it from scratch. Which would be more expensive.
