I kinda agree with OP, I'd rather pay 40-50$ for a trilogy( atleast make an annoucement and a pre-order option!), it's why I didnt buy this yet, and one of the reasons why this isnt selling well, people often want the full thing, and the hype for a game series often intensifies x10 this way.

I've only played Onimusha 2 back in the day and I loved it. I wanted to get my hands on Onimusha 4 so bad (even now) but I was too late.

What data are you using to say it isn't selling well?

It's not impossible, Capcom have made plenty of money from microtransactions and if they haven't why do they keep adding them in their games? They can afford to release the entire trilogy, heck they can even afford to pay royalties for Jean Reno...

"because you can afford it"
Never go in to business please...
What if I already am in business?

Says you dude, at least if the chance this sells well, the other Onimusha's would be considered possibly.

with 123 reviews i dont think its selling well. only nostalgia blind fanboys buy it
not really. ive never played any and i bought it because it looked interesting. ive heard of theses games before and now i get a chance to try one.

People who say they simply should just do a trilogy have no understanding of game development or maybe better said the business side of it.

That said Onimusha is a fine game.

The puzzles might not make sense to stop a trap perhaps but on themselves they are fine. Water puzzle is easily solvable in the time and even if you go back you only need go through a short bit without combat even?
Puzzleboxes are fun but way to easy.
Luckily the combat is very enjoable. Simple but it works.

The absolute biggest downside is the camera. Some smaller ones like you can't skip cutscenes etc.

Listen Mr.Terry, your opinion doesn't matter. :)

The people who defend Warlords are the same type of people who defend Shenmue. The game has aged terribly and has way too much busywork. It just isn't worth our time/money in 2019.
What do you gain by attacking something? Just curious. You seem genuinely angry that other people enjoy something you don't. The game isn't terrible by any means. Your DMC analogy is silly; DMC 2 wasn't the first game in the series. This was a less popular series than RE and DMC, so they are more likely gauging interest by this release to see if the others will get done. The controls aren't nearly as horrendous as DMC1, which is something. That games was a slog to get through and has aged even more terribly. But we all still love it because it was DMC1. Onimusha Warlords is the reason there was Onimusha 2 and 3. It was good enough to spawn several sequels that keep getting better. This just makes me nostalgic for the times when Capcom released good new games instead of retreads.

To be fair, the bad controller argument is moot considering that Capcom fixed it with the use of the analog stick.

Hey, Tank Controls are the best! No seriously, I feel the "fix" doesn't really do much, but worsen the experience. But it all depends on the person, I guess. Tank controls with fixed backgrounds are kind of second nature to some.

I agree. As someone else had already typed up, Capcom is gauging interest for the series. They also replaced the soundtrack with a new one (the previous soundtrack was "made" by a composer who claimed to be deaf and later admitted that he used a ghost composer to make the ost) and re-recorded the Japanese voice acting. On top of the texture improvements, I am sure it cost a bit to do.

I would not be shocked if Cpacom releases a 4 pack with the first game being the Genma version. If they do, ppl will complain even though it hasa new content.

There is an option to turn the tank controls function on, so we all win! :)

You're an idiot! Please can someone revoke your posting rights. You don't deserve them, as you clearly don't know a good game and are too stupid to figure out the easy ass puzzles making it a bad game for you.

I didn't say it's that bad, but I said it would sell way better as a trilogy and at a higher price.

I've checked the "all-time peaks" on game charts, here it is and some examples to compare:

https://steamcharts.com/app/761600
https://steamcharts.com/app/304240
https://steamcharts.com/app/587620
https://steamcharts.com/app/367500
https://steamcharts.com/app/731490

https://steamcharts.com/app/582010
and I know it's a full new game but MHW had over x500 more players at release than Onimusha.
This is what Capcom and other companies care about the most, a mere x2 of onimusha's sales would make all the difference, and probably HD development for the rest of the series (at least quicker), of course this is just my hunch.

and unlike OP I can tell THIS IS A GOOD GAME (- the non-skip able cutscenes, missing rest of the series) it deserves better.

Devil may cry is a horrible hack and slash with tank controls

Nice bait kid. Pins the one comment that slightly agrees with his complaining. Plays old games with similar graphic decline. Nice.
DeadPhoenix 2019 年 1 月 22 日 上午 9:59
It will obviously sell the most on PS4, and the X1 and PC will be a tie. So we're maybe looking at 100K total sales in the first week, which is not bad for a low budget game. If more people will buy, Onimusha 2 and 3 will follow, possibly even 4. And hopefully a new Onimusha game after.

It's not a remaster, it's a port with high rendering resolution :steamfacepalm:
