Second, the game was originally going to be a ps1 game, converted to ps2 at the last minute and rushed out so it could be a ps2 launch title. This is why there are a lot of features that did not come out until Genma Onimusha re-released on the Xbox, they were not ready in time for the ps2 release.
(and it does not seem we are getting the Genma features in this version, so there's that.)
Well, I thought it looked stylistically better than Nioh, but with this realization, maybe it'll be a bit clunky to play...it's just that a fighting game with static bgs sounds so...backwards.
