I just don't know: how do I get the "all green" code from the human, and how do I charge the battery? Do I need to charge it?

Can this be done at any time? I swear I'm getting to the mine shaft from the store room within 40 seconds but I might be missing something. Is there any requirements like having to hug the right wall in the storage room to getting all the way to the battery in the maintenance shaft?...

Trying to get the code from Shelley after I created the suit from Christian and put it on. But all he keeps saying when I type "ask for secret code" is "We're supposed to keep it secret!". Do I need to do something else before I ask him?
