Stealing trash?

Is there ever any repercussions to taking the items that would otherwise be thrown away? If an item isn't accounted for, like those black bottles, I don't think they expect them to be there. So I don't think you can get caught on those.

But if they have some sort of delivery quota, would they be counting all the trash that doesn't get sent down the shoot? I know they get mad if you send something down there that they find strange.
