What's the difference between this and the Original version?

I have been interested in this game since it reminded me of Kingdom Hearts but now I see different Earthlock game that's somehow different but still the same?

Is this a "remastered" version of the Original game or is it a completely different game?

Also, I want a playable demo.

It's a remaster, addressing all the downfalls and negative feedback from the original (Earthlock: Festival of Magic). Check the discussion forums of the original game - it was announced that owners of the previous (FoM) version will be receiving a free, complimentary upgrade/copy of this new 'remaster'.
