Impossible Scenarios? Any Solutions?

Just curious if anyone has found a way to achieve any metal for the Alternate USA and Pacific NW scenarios. I've found both to be very challenging, for very different reasons.

Alt. USA seems especially tough since chemical plants very rarely spawn. No chemical plants means no fertilizer. No fertilizer, no increased grain/corn yields, which have knock on effects for other things you need to haul. Easy to pull in truly awesome volumes of cash, just rediculously impossible to please even one neighboring state.

Pacific NW is the opposite it feels. Very little money and a lot of rough terrain that needs a lot of capital. Plus the 4million required to gain access to Canada. Once you're IN Canada, easy to explode in wealth. But typically it seems too late at that point to win the scenario, by moving the designated freight. I have little issue with moving the US cattle, but every problem getting cattle and furniture to the Seattle markets.

Any insights?

Alt USA is notoriously impossible to win without changing the map itself. Not sure about PNW. I may have always looked at those mountains and just said nah too expensive.

If you use building industries to help boost relevant demands, these scenarios are definitely manageable. With a good grasp of the game, and experience they can be done "as intended" without re-hauling tactics. You will find various hints and strategies by experienced players at hawkdawg.com/forums.

it's not that hard after a while, it's just getting that seed capital and breaking into Canadian markets. And swallowing the horror of a few seriously terrible routes.
