cannibals come out at night and they are looking for you. you gotta hide at the start till you get better gear. if they find you they will break blocks getting to get to you. its alot of fun.
and then theres 4 bosses. spider queen. scorpian king. cannibal king.. and a kraken.
natives to trade with using pearls which you find underwater in clams
this game is similar to MC but its not the same. i know cuz i play MC too.
this game is like a modified MC without the BS mod installing. looks awesome and plays awesome on a cheap 970 nothing else is needed to make it look great
how to play.
get a wood pickaxe first then stone then find iron to make a iron pickaxe then find silver and silver pretty much mines every other ore in the game. except gem blocks which needs a golden pickaxe
if you buy this game. listen to the survival guide in game pressing the H key. and do not get a boar pet lol dont listen to that part about pets. cannibals will find you cuz of the boar pet
hope you do buy it. as its def worth it and the dev team listens to this community
LOL, that happenned to me. That was a fun night. Used up all my explosive arrors, the stupid pig still died though. He did kill two by himself, so that was kind of nice. RIP Porky (I ate his remains)
thats another thing. if you sneak up on cannibals you can crit attack them and insta kill them like an assassin if they have not seen you and the same with a raft or motor boat lol thats even more funny running over them
ive been flying by in a motor boat and hiting some with my sword crit insta killing them. so funny
btw cofefe have you played MC story mode? lol thought of that when you said porky. main character on that game had a pet pig named Reuben. like the german sandwich name
also lol all the bad reviews are at the top obviously the people who made them all liked eachothers, because they are all at the top, lying underneath positive.
(I explain the actual game farther down, but first a backstory of why I quit minecraft, and why I don't like minecrafts dev team, and why you should get this one, even though they say it's a clone)
Minecraft was a great, simple fun game, than they tried to turn it all complex, it went downhill since the combat update (1.9) and then, since thats when mojang had sold to microsoft, they started trying to wow people all the time it seems, they keep trying to add cool stuff but instead it just takes away the qualities I did like from it, and wait.... than they had to try to make sure people stay clear of the other block builders, they have copied cube life 5-6 times now, and the "aquatic update" gives me proof, the fish literally swim around just like this game now, instead of the classic minecraft fish style where you just get them randomly from any water pool, sucks!
and the super duper graphics pack,
Cube Life Announcement (November through december for screenshots and than a trailer)
Super Duper Graphics pack announcement (E3 2017 for a trailer)
than smaller things, like adding parrots, sea turtles, concrete, armor on with ZL/Right Mouse
it's just hilarious! also Microsoft made a non-kid friendly game called MC Story Mode, which has basically nothing to do with the original, has the same creatures but thats about it, I mean the game is cool but it has a few innapropriate jokes and some laungauge, now onto Cube Life and cypronia! oh and Minecrafts team gets pretty vulgar at times. Cypronia focuses on all ages, on families, on people who don't want the nasty profanities and what not. :)
Cube Life released on wii u for all the nintendo players who thought that minecraft would never come, it seemed it wouldn't, but after it released it was at first a bit buggy and they were working on a humungous (did I spell that right?) update to fix a few things and to add some sweet features to make it awesome! then, a few monthes later, MC wii u announced than released, but Cypronia had put so much work in so as they said in there second announcement trailer "we never give up!" stating alright, minecrafts here to battle, time to step it up.
as time went on it got to be they're best seller! it became pretty popular, even hit the top of the charts, so after a year of updates for the wii u promised, they than worked on This version, a really upgraded, better than super duper graphics, contest holding, wonderful community version.
also to be clear they are working on a new version of they're other game, Pixel Action Heroes, really fun one! (if you don't like guns you don't have to get that one)
here's some info/features:
over 500+ survival mode items
over 100+ creative items
Indepth crafting
crafting guide + survival guide
trading with natives
121 sectors for survival
explosives
frequent updates
living world
great graphics
active developers
prefabs
well I hope you buy it! I judge games mostly by the creators, so if I sounded rude with microsoft, sorry, I didn't mean to, just a little upset with them right now, it's just my opinion, XD
lol it has a little backstory, but no ending. nor story through gameplay. yes it is sandbox/survival/adventure game, with plenty of action! and as the days go on, you get more canibals after you!
it's loads of fun, with a new mode planned, plus possibly multiplayer in the future!
also, just fyi, I like 1.8 and older for minecraft, but they changed to much for my liking now,
Minecraft Java (not any others) has an attack limiter, Cube Life Does not, making it easier, Minecraft is more into the exploration side, Cube Life focuses more on fighting to survive, also in cube life they have outstanding village structures, plus unique items to creative, but minecraft has some funny villagers (which is not bad :)
Cube Life also has a guy in a shopping cart...
so really if you want a game with a company to the family, or a game to an older audience. I know most other blocky style games try to copy minecraft just for attention, but Cube Life was for nintendo fans ;)
plus this game I can't remember if I said already has Prefabricated buildings, three clicks and you get a piramid, it would take a couple hours to build in minecraft :)
Never played MC: Story Mode. Is it as good as Cube Life?
I don't want to be rude nor offend you, but i am not sure to trust someone who has his steam account just because this game.
You sound like a marketing person for the devs (you sound, not you are...) and i have read some reviews telling about the lack of content, the poor balance, the frustrating durability of items and objects, the limitation with saving a game, the annoying behaviour of the animals always going to you and getting in the middle even when fighting a monster, the lack of farming and planting, the too limited inventory or the lack of random generation.
Those are too many complaints that make me unsure about what to expect and what to expect in the future (short-mid term). Are the devs planning on solve some/any of those complaints? (i know some are just a point of view or are debatable, but all are worrying for me if they are just somewhat true)
Also, i am a bit worried about the interface and controls, given this is a port of a nintendo game. Can someone tell me something about this specific 2 questions? I play with KB+mouse, always. I'm an old pc gamer...
Again, sorry if this sounds rude, i don't want to be, i'm just interested and asking.
Thank you in advance.
First off, this game is not for everybody. It isn't like Minecraft which is kind of casual, it is a very difficult, hard-core game that not everyone can get into.
Second, you will be happy to know that a large portion of the concerns you've listed (poor item durability, lack of balance) have been adressed in the regular updates to the game. TBH, I've never seen anyone complain about lack of content. I definately would not complain, I've never explored 100% of the world in several years of playing on Wii U. The world map is 11x11 grid spaces and each grid is 320x320 blocks wide, making the world 3520x3520 blocks wide. There are four bosses to kill, and the pre-designed world is full of secrets. The world is NOT randomly generated. For many that is an immediate turn-off, but I like it that way. Still, the devs have mentioned the idea of making a mode with random generation.
Finally, you have nothing to worry about in terms of controls, the default is perfectly suited for this kind of PC game, and you can customize the controls if you want. Initially the UI was awkward when it came to inventory management, but they updated it and now its much better.
Hope that helps.
To be honest, Mr. Gosley The Goose post was also helpful, but understand me, it could sound a bit biased. Yours too, ofc lol as you said.
But yes, that helps a lot. I maybe was reading reviews previous to some patches, and it's good to know that durability and balance is better now. I have no problems if the game is hard, but sometimes hard just means grinding or unfair monster spawning, for instance. I don't have all the time of the world to play as much as i want, but i'm not a casual player anyway.
About lack of content, there is 1 review from 11th may that mentions it, along with having not too much to do and also that there are few resources and too much spread between islands that are separate instances of the game, maybe? This thing about instances is important also for the size of the map you told me. It is all separate pieces of map?
I did not know that map was so big, that's why random generation was a concern. I have no problem without it depending on the game. I am now finishing The Forest and it also lacks random generation. Having to load every piece of map, though...
Very glad to read that about controls. Even more if can rebind them.
Have the devs any plan to add farming for food and planting trees?
And yes, all of that was helpful. Both of you were helpful, indeed, and now i'm more interested than before. I would like to know just about those 2 questions: map instances and farming/planting (maybe the last one is for the devs!)
Thank you again for your help.
As far as I know, there is no plan to implement farming or growing trees, though it is frequently requested. I believe that grass and sea grass regenerates in random places across the map, similar to mobs, but I'm not sure.
I have had the game since early release on wii u, I just like the devs and game better, because I like family friendly, so minecraft is towards an older audience, I mean check they're twitter, you'll see that clearly :)
sorry I came off that way, I'm mean towards certain games for no reason, because of the company who makes them I guess, nintendo gives me annoying vibes sometimes because they also make some... interesting decisions XD
so there's some issues with this game too, but I bare with them, because it's "A whole new experience" as they have said, I stick wtih this one :)
I can answer any questions you may have, I didn't really explain to well on your first questions too, sorry about that, thanks cofefe!
I might be making a channrl for cube lfie soon!
We are currently working on farming.
We are undecided about trees at the moment.
@emp456 I could reassure you, I'm not the part of the team and I'm not involved with any marketing-relationship with them... Actually, I raised some issues, problems, ideas and I'm really happy, despite of some disagreements devs are replied and been interested about my point of view. Anyway... let's start.
1. Lack of content... everyone could write something like that. It really depends what we expecting from this game. Obviously I would like to have more, but useful items in this game, but I can't say there's lack of content.
2. Poor balance and poor durability been addressed and at least partially fixed already. In my perfect world I would prefer to set some of those values individually but it's big improvement since first release.
3. Animals... I must admit I don't really understand idea of having pet (in this game) is it useful? No idea, honestly. But, not all animals acting exactly the same. Do I like if the pigs / boars coming towards me? Yes, I do! Why? Because I could have important resources.
4. Lack of farming... true. I wish I could farm something by myself... I don't want to spoil anything and I will give you no clue at this point, but farming could change something important in this game. What I can say now, in this type of game I like to be settled, I want to have "a piece of world" which belongs to me, only me - I found one in this game, I build (finally) mega-shelter (check my other posts) and I'm happy. Planting trees... I addressed this. Devs are not agree with me for some reason, but maybe at some point they will change their mind... will see.
5. Controls are customisable and I was really unhappy starting this game, where I had inventory assigned to "I" key or something like this... but I changed to "E" and no reason for complain.
6. Resources... When I start my first game (I reached level 30+ and decided to change my approach and start it over) was disappointed about lack of resources on starting island... No... I can't say "lack of resources" - I better say "lack of resources on the beginning making me rich in first hour of the game". I personally prefer have to much of resources in any game. I will tell about this later on. Anyway, at this point I may say, amount of resources is sufficient (probably) if someone want to finish this game. But it's not sufficient if someone want to live in this world... if you know what I mean.
@Cofefe:
What I've done at some point... just created paper version of my map, and making some notes, what-is-where. I would love if the map could be improved and if player could add some notes, symbols etc. on the map. Reason I'm playing computer games on computer, I want to do everything related to this game on computer, not on separate piece of paper in "real world".
However, devs done good job and improved (recently) transfer of items inventory -> backpack -> chest. It has been done properly. Bravo!
@Mr. Gosley The Goose
Minecraft <> Minecraft Story Mode which is been developed by TellTale Games publisher (with Mojang). I can't escape from some examples or even comparing Minecraft to Cube Life... but I never said it's another Minecraft clone. CL has own individuality, style... but don't understand me wrong, I'm not an enemy of Minecraft - and still active player / builder in MC.
I tried on my neighbour computer MC Story Mode... and I liked some of TellTale games, but I must say, Story Mode didn't impressed me, as I may expect.
@emp456
Perfect example... The Forest is not randomly generated, but it's really good game. I played a bit on my neighbour computer and considering to buy it in future. Anyway... I'm not expecting from any game to be exact copy of Minecraft - I have Minecraft and I don't need play in same worlds same way - it would be pointless. I'm expecting diversity, own style, idea.
I give couple examples good / bad.
Good:
1. Ylands (owned) - randomly generated still in EA, but I really like it. I will stick with it and soon I will be playing again.
2. Raft (played but not owned yet) - when I started playing, I was really annoyed, literally frustrated, because I couldn't understand what to do, why to do what I have to... and I thought the game is primitive. Yesterday, I borrowed computer from my neighbour and played Raft for several hours... it's so addictive, despite EA.
3. Yonder: TCCC (owned) - world is not randomly generated, has own ideas and style. I really liked it.
Bad:
1. Creativerse - I tried... I have it in my library, but there's something just pushing away from this game. I can't integrate myself with the world of the game.
2. Miasmata (owned) - Maybe it was a good idea, but spend not so much time and it really hasn't suited me.
3. Alchemist's Awakening (played only) - maybe idea is good, but the game is shallow, unstable - and community is not really helpful.
