Water Bridge

I noticed on the wike there is mention of creating a water bridge. I am wondering if anyone has accomplished this and if so how? I am stuck on the north island as I have killed 30+ sharks and not a single fin has dropped. Kind of screwed as far as a raft goes right now. A suggestion might be to add the ability to craft a wooden rudder.

While I am at it, is there anyway to keep from falling off edges? I know in minecraft you can crouch to keep from falling off, which is also how your able to make a water bridge in minecraft.

Anyways kind of frustrated at this point and now I have started getting "cheater detected" and before you ask I purchased the game.

@Ryuu now I understand your point. I decided to go (building bridge) to F7 location. So many sharks and I had a couple attempts to start my bridge.

I can tell you now, bridge could be build whilst on the bridge, obviously consuming more time and you need to be more carefull, but finaly it could be build. Bridge in F7 location been build within 3 (game) days, but I left some spaces, because of natives, I didn't want to upset them.

I discovered that when my bridge was close enough that I could build from the shore to my bridge, (before the natives are here message) I could make it all the way without causing them to get angry.

Also in your 2nd picture, I made that area a shark trap, it's perfect for it. Just make a 1 tile wide ledge around the inner area.
