Not starting on Steam Deck
Bought this today but it doesn't launch on the deck. I tried experimental and a few other compatibility options.

Any ideas?

Hello,

you're the 1st one to report that, so I guess (and hope !) it's not a general problem with the SteamDeck.

Maybe try some different versions of Proton ? (I have 0 knowledge of all that except for the few posts done by SteamDeckers in the TE4 forum 😅 )

Otherwise, if not already done, try to verify the integrity of the game files : https://help.steampowered.com/en/faqs/view/0C48-FCBD-DA71-93EB .

If nothing helps, check if the game created a Player.log file and send it to me to : contact (at) managames -dot- com

On Windows, it's in this folder : %APPDATA%/../LocalLow/Mana Games/Tennis Elbow 4 .

Hi ManuTOO, thanks for your awesome work.

In steam deck many games work fine with proton experimental, so @Arthas please try it and let we know...
Otherwise, I have some doubts....I want to buy this full game (only tested demo in windows). @ManuTOO is it posible to buy the pack game with windows/mac/Linux versions and share saved games (career mode) between windows and linux? And how is the linux version for steam deck, different from steam official store?

Thanks...

Besides, do it have sense to buy 2 versions if I only want to play steam version (windows and steam deck) if the game runs well in steam?

@PoTTe,
there's no Linux version available on Steam. People playing on the SteamDeck use the Windows version with Proton.
The saved games are compatible with all versions, but the Linux version is released months later, so it may have some issues (if it's the case, just tell me and I'll try to update the Linux version earlier).
I guess you're asking about the ManaGames.com version : if you buy it, you'll also get a free Steam key with it ; you don't have to buy the game twice.

Note : it's better to create a new topic when having a question unrelated to the 1st post... 😉

Well I just tried it again just for kicks and it mysteriously booted up!

No compatibility options either!

I don't know what changed but it works now!

@Arthas,
this is another mystery in the world of computers..! 😅

Thanks

I suppose it would be necessary to buy Linux version for my steam deck. So better just steam version and yes, next time I will create new topic
