Game not punishing enough for "strong" second serve
What's the point of serving "safe" on second serve, if you can always boom 110+ mph second serves with 6 double faults in 2 sets? Played against someone online who never used safe serve or even a normal serve for second service.
Avg 1st serve speed: 115 mph
Avg 2nd serve speed: 111 mph
1st in: 41%
2nd in: 73%
Double faults: 6

Game should be more punishing for trying to serve always strong serves.

Hello,

I just updated the doc https://www.managames.com/tennis/doc/Tennis_Elbow-Tennis_Game.html#skills with :
To simulate stress, if you try to do a Strong serve on your 2nd serve, the chance of success will be lowered by 10% and the precision of your aiming zone by 25%, plus the serve will be tiring as doing an acceleration strike.

If you try to do a Normal serve on your 2nd serve, the chance of success will be lowered by 4% and the precision of your aiming zone by 20%.

I guess your opponent used the Normal serve on his serve and got relatively unlucky on his 1st serve rate (or maybe he aimed badly) and relatively lucky on his 2nd serve speed (or his Service Consistency is well above his Power).

So, except if the maluses stated above don't work as intended, then the strong and even the normal serve as 2nd serve shouldn't be noticeably OP.

The aiming precision loss should greatly lower the chance for aces. Did you notice your opponent was aiming farther from the lines on his 2nd serves ?

His first serve ended more in the net than wide. I noticed that sometimes the RNG doesn't work as intended. I mean, sure, those are extreme cases, but I had games with 32% first serve in. I know that you have a 70% chance with strong serve and 85% with normal, but my player kept missing both, even without any directional input, so I was forced to use safe serve to at least go up for the %. Does the game use a purely RNG based system, or a pseudo RNG?

Another point, why is a sliced serve so likely to miss, even on a safe serve? Sometimes barely making any directional input makes a sliced safe serve miss. I think out of all types of serve, the sliced serve is the least close to 70% success.

1) It's true RNG, without modification

2) The side spin will make the sliced serve deviate to the side, so you have to adapt your aiming. If you play online with a high Delay, it might get hard to aim near the line, but with 100~150ms Delay, it should be ok.

You can practice offline with the Serve Aiming preview.
