Is there a trick to catching salmon instead of blue bass?

Nine times out of ten, when I catch a fish, it's a blue bass. I currently need 4 salmon (2 each for 2 different quests). This is going to take a while unless I figure out how to increase the odds of catching salmon. :-/ (I do have the fully upgrade fishing rod, btw)

Hi! First, you need to build the pier on the lake. Then, you have a 50/50 chance for the salmon to appear. If you fish when Mûn is in the planet, she will get another fish, so you will have two fishes. Thanks!

I had the pier...and I eventually caught the salmon, but it sure seemed like the odds were much less than 50/50. I caught about 25-30 blue bass and maybe 8 or so salmon over the last couple of days. Now I'm just going for the last few achievements (all quests are completed).

Same problem here! I catch all the fish in the pond several times and never get a salmon, just blue bass (yes, I had the pier too)

you can try to buy it on the other planet

And with Mun there, she would stand behind me and I did not catch two fish. Hit or miss on the Salmon for sure.

NOTE: OK, this is just guessing, but it seems to be best when the lake has 4 fish in it. Then you have a chance of catching the salmon. Hard to prove this 100% but it seems that way.

either it's me, or the lake is a bit small for a lake. if other planets have lakes you can fish, is it possible to get better fish that way? and how do i get to these planets and when?

you cant fish on other planets
(but if you make achievment with fishing, you will have enough salmon hah)

I've had salmon caught 100% of the time at night in the summer
